Corsair AX860i Whine

Hello!

I have upgraded my system from an Asus Strix 1080 to a Asus 2080Ti Strix and now I notice a strong whine coming from my PSU when the power output is @350W (read in Corsair iCue).

My initial suspect was the GPU but after switching between another GPU, same model and carefully looking for the sound origin I narrowed it down to the PSU.

The system is bought over the internet from a 3rd party, assembled with components from a local retailer. PSU is not out of warranty with the retailer.

I have tried opening the PSU to attempt the hot-glue "fix" but got deterred to move forward after opening the outside cover and seeing the PSU fan itself glued to the inside.

Is the PSU in any way eligible to to Corsair RMA system now?

So now the warranty is void. :(

I wouldn't use hot glue. I would use RTV made for the application: https://www.mgchemicals.com/products/rtv-silicones/potting-compounds/rtv11

Coil whine at particular loads is not necessarily a "defect". Once the frequencies lower to a particular band within human hearing, the air gap surface of the core.
