Ram Memory Upgrade HELP

I am helping out a friend who just bought a "Low End" PC

It is a Compac Presario SR2020NX with only 512 Megs of ram

DDR2 SDRAM PC2-4200

AMD processor with "On Board" Nvidia video

I was wondering if something like this would work

1GB PC2-4200 533MHz DDR2 CORSAIR VALUESELECT MEMORY 2 x 512MB

Part Number - VS512MB533D2

I need to know ASAP as the Corsair web site memory guide

reccomends CMSS512MB-533

Can someone tell me if the first item listed will work

Thanks in advance as I need an answer ASAP

There are only 2 slots on this mother board and the sticks of memory must match

Basically I will be throwing out the stock memory and replacing it with the 2

512 sticks to achieve the 1 gig total

I just need assurance that the memory will work

The VS1GBKIT533D2 (2 x VS512MB533D2) will probably work. The problem is that OEM systems can be very picky about the memory they will and will not work with which is the reason Corsair began making System Select modules (CMSS).

The SS modules adhere very strictly to JEDEC guidlines and are basically as compatible with said systems as you can get. HOWEVER, as Wired said, the VS modules will probably work if you replace the memory rather than add to it.

I would feel comfortable giving it a try.
