Was sent your memory in a bundle by vendor--Will it work--not listed!!!

Purchased an Intel Board in a bundle with your PN CM3X1024-1333C9 (See System Specs) and the processor. According to Memory Configurator (http://www.corsair.com/configurator/product_results.aspx?id=613709 the listed memory according to the configurator does not contain the previously listed DIMMS. I tried to make it clear to the vendor what I wanted but they shipped the PN above and not TW3X4G1600C9DHX.

The questions that I have is 1. Will the DIMMS that I received work properly and 2. Will system performance suffer noticeably if these DIMMS will work AOK.

THANKS!!!

The system configurator lists packs of ram, so CM3X1024-1333C9 would be one stick of a TW3X2G1333C9 kit.

Another thing you should take note of is that TW3X4G1600C9DHX does NOT reach 1600MHz on a P45 chipset. (http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=71780)

I have a set of this ram and it fails to achieve the rated speed. The alternatives are get an X48 chipset, get lower latency 1600 ram which appears to reach the rated settings, or just settle with 1333.

In direct response to your questions, 1. As long as they are from the same twin pack, yes the modules should work fine together (as they have been tested with each other), and 2. System performance should be fine. According to some reports, there is not a large difference in performance when going from 1333-1600 anyway.

Thank you for the information my friend. I am an "Old Dog" and sometimes the technicals don't sink into the grey matter. Your post made things crystal clear for me, THANK YOU for taking the time!!!

You have a friend in Virginia!
