Eysimir
Hey! I'm about to get an Aorus X570 Master as motherboard for my new X570 / 3950X system but I have questions about memory compatibility. I'd like to install 64GB memory in total, but I want to have the option to extend to 128GB in the future. This means I'd have to get 32GB memory sticks (only 4 slots in total). Looking at the memory compatibility list for the motherboard, there are hardly any 32GB kits listed. Most are 8 or 16... One of the listed 16GB kits is this: Corsair Vengeance LPX Black DDR4 3200MHz 2x16GB (CMK32GX4M2B3200C16) I'm interested in this very similar 32 GB kit: Corsair Vengeance LPX Black DDR4 3200MHz 2x32GB (CMK64GX4M2E3200C16) How can I tell whether the 32GB kit is compatible or not? Is it safe to choose it or should I really only stick to the compatibility list? Cheers! /Anders
DevBiker
It will most likely work just fine. The QVL is just what the manufacturer has tested with the board. As you've seen, they don't test everything or even close to it.
intender
It should work, but running 128GB at 3200 might be pushing it. I could be wrong though. I can't think of anyone that has tried to run 128GB on the Master off the top of my head. Most people going for that much ram move up to Threadripper. My ram is also not on the qvl for the master, but I run 4x8 without issue. Your mileage may vary. Ryzen 3000 is much less particular about the ram that is used than previous gen was.
