Need a Commander *super* mini for single node (airflow)

My Corsair psu and cpu cooler both have single USB header connectors and don't require the mini-commander to work with the Corsair Link.

 

It seems that since I have the Dominator Airflow Platinum LED Fan I have to get the full kit just to control the LED color from the software.

 

Does anyone know if there are any plans to make a single-node type controller to work with a single led fan that would allow software control? I have USB ports aplenty. I don't want to have to get a full lighting kit just to change the color of my memory led fan according to temperature readings. I'm not planning on getting led strips or anything like that.

Lighting node or Commander Mini. Those are your olny options to control the LEDs or stick with the default color

I know. That's why I'm saying there needs to be another option.
