PillowCase
So i was just playing games on my pc, and it randomly shuts down. After turning it on you can hear the psu making some crackling noises (like electric) and now it wont boot up, but the motherboard will have its led on button lit to green and when turning it on now it will make like 2 clicking sounds and wont boot anything. Doing the paper clip test on the psu it just makes to 2 clicking sounds, and the fan on the psu doesnt run. Is it broken?
Corsair Employee jonnyguru Posted February 25, 2015 Corsair Employee Share Posted February 25, 2015 Well.. the fan on the PSU won't run because the PSU has a zero RPM fan until you have a higher load on it. When you do the paper-clip test, are there any other components hooked up to the PSU? Shouldn't be... except one fan to make sure it's running since the PSU fan won't run.
