Default Corsair Vengenace H2100 Issues

Hello, everyone. I'm truly a huge fan of corsair and their products; however, there's a few things with my newly bought headset that I have issues with.

-First of all, I'm getting the "white noise/hissing" sound whenever anything with audio playback is opened on my PC.
-Second, the microphone is also not clear. There is ambient noise accompanying my voice and I don't know the cause of this.

I have updated drivers. I'm running Windows 8.1, x64.

I see that others have had this issue. Anyone find any solutions to these problems?

Update:

-Fixing mic sounds are as easy as going into properties and raising up the decibels (duh, Jeff).

-However, still having trouble with white noise. Equalizer APO + Peace was a very good solution in increasing the quality of sound (went form '-6' to '-12' Db).

Having same problems with mine, brand new.. microphone is incredibly soft, and constant static... Time to RMA unless anyone has any alternatives for a fix.
