bryanabhay
Hi , I have gone through compatibility tool on the corsair's web site. But I see only DDR 3 1333 FSB RAM is suitable for this MB. Why so ? Cant I use DDR3 1600 FSB Modules ? Please reply. Bryan
Wired
I'm guessing that the DX58SO doesn't support memory voltage higher than 1.5v. Since all Corsair's 1600 MHz needs 1.65v, and the afforementioned assumption, it wouldn't be recommended.
RJLeong65
I'm guessing that the DX58SO doesn't support memory voltage higher than 1.5v. Since all Corsair's 1600 MHz needs 1.65v, and the afforementioned assumption, it wouldn't be recommended. That info is incorrect. It is for certain OEM versions of that Intel reference X58 motherboard. The boxed DX58SO does allow for voltage tweaks; however, DIMM voltage can only be adjusted in 0.02V increments. Accounting for Vdroop, the proper DIMM voltage setting for "1.65V" rated memory is 1.66V. (Similarly, the DIMM voltage defaults to 1.54V instead of 1.50V for 1.5V DIMMs.)
