Cory H
Hey folks started doing my first sets of overclocking today. My first test I did 3.3ghz to 4.3 @ +0.150 volts W-prime was running my CPU at about 48 Celsius Later ran 3D mark on Cloud Gate test and stayed still about 48-49 Everything was perfectly fine no hiccups. I decided that I didn't like how loud my PC was while Idling which was roughly around 45. So I changed the 4.3 Ghz to 4.0 and my cpu was still staying around 45 while idling. Do you guys recommend a voltage for the 4.0 overclock. I feel like my increase in temperature is from the voltage, but I am not 100% sure how much less I should go. http://imgur.com/2xZgoWQ
HOODedAssault
U need to stress test with something like prime95 or a quicker tell is Linx on max ram. I usually run Linx for 20 runs at max ram if it passes I try 6 hours of prime95 blend test. That's good enough for my gaming needs. First tho download cpuz and see what your actual voltage is under load. Use Google. Search sandy bridge over clocking guide. There are she very detailed guides that will help you out a lot with moderate overclocking.
