Default New user question

Just got the K65. Installed the Mega Rainbow profile and it's great. One quick concern I have: As I was fiddling with the default profiles I noticed the default "light on key press" effect was odd. It works fine when the key is pressed, however, when the light fades from the key the effect seems laggy and not 100% smooth. Is this normal? Just making sure my LEDs are working well.

you have to change the time intervals from which it transitions.
here is an example i made for someone a long time ago:

How would I go about creating a key press effect & change the interval?

Doesn't seem too hard. But how do I make this for a single key only? I don't really want a ripple, just the brightest and smoothest one key reactive white LED I can get.
