You will need to ask the Customer Support to get answers to these questions. Call them by phone/Skype or submit an RMA, explain your issue and ask for refund/model swap. AFAIK those questions cannot be answered through the Technical Support Forum.

I went back and forth about sending my drive back. If there is going to be an update, I will wait but currently it just doesn't look like it.

So my question, will there be an update for sure or have we lost support? Not asking when, just if there will be one at all.

Guess it's RMA then ...

Edit: While it does suck that Sandforce is slow to update, the blame still falls to Corsair, regardless of whether they accept it. It seems the company is sitting idly by waiting for Sandforce and expecting customers to do the same. Corsair made the choice to use their technology, they have to except the consequences of their actions, the good and bad.

3 months and nothing ...... This is just a farce - a mockery of our customers. They can not issue a firmware ...... In terms of customer support certainly my next SSD from Corsair does not.

The reason for that inferior customer-treatment is inferior journalism. The computer-magazines are testing just performance and nothing else. If this situation was the same for car-manufacturers, we would have cars with 1000hp, which take 2sec for 100km/h but lose a wheel each 1000 kilometers.

That's the solution! Staying without bootdrive for a week or more, or buying a new one for sending a non-damaged SSD around half the world !!!!
That gives the word "support" a whole new meaning ...

Actually since you're in Europe the closest RMA depot would be in the NL.

That was meant kind of ironic.
Anyway. I don't want to tear out my ssd for a stupid fw-update (one out of two F40 - the other one did the update without complaints !!!)

It's been 4 months, and the best solution offered so far is to remove my boot drive & send it to Corsair to upgrade the firmware. If anyone at Corsair thinks that's a reasonable solution, they should be fired.
I don't run my system to QA manufacturers' hardware.

I won't hold my breath about that. Better later than never.
Still, Corsair maybe forgot about their loyal buyers. Bad market thingy...
I got my drive with 2 year warranty and one month later all Corsair drive had 3 year warranty. Now also I also got screwed because no more fw updates Only one fw update, and that was it. Gj.

Sad

I do not want to be too cynical, because my F60 after all is giving me great satisfaction, however considering the huge number of SandForce based SSDs available nowadays if Corsair doesn't differentiate itself for support and reliability it doesn't really make sense to choose it rather than another brand.

I'm really disappointed for this: problem known and recognized since 2010 and not fixed yet for my drive. There's no reasonable excuse for them to not release the alternate package as they did previously, also because other manufacturers did that for their SSDs based on the same SandForce 1200 controller.
