Asus Z8NR-D12 and CMS4GX3M1A1333C9 compatibility

Hello,

We are experiencing an issue with Asus Z8NR-D12 motherboard and CMS4GX3M1A1333C9 4GB ECC Registered DDR3 DIMMs.

The motherboard ran just fine with 2*4GB of said DIMMs per CPU (two CPUs), but adding more memory brought a heap of problems. Initially slots A1, B1, D1 and E1 were filled. Adding memory to slots C1 and F1 caused BIOS post to report a problem with DIMM_F1, and the system only posted with 20GB memory. Swapping the DIMMs around did little good - no matter how the memory was installed the F1 slot always failed. Updating the BIOS to latest (1501) version didn't help either.

Furthermore reverting back to the old memory layout left the system in a very sluggish state (i.e. booting VMWare ESXi 4.1.0 takes ages now).

Has anyone experienced similar issues on Tylersburg / Nehalem platform?

What are the recommended settings for Channel interleaving and Rank interleaving on various memory congfigurations?

TIA!

Sorry for taking this long to get back on this.

Is this not your memory then? Or are the specifications quoted there incorrect?

I was unable to locate the DIMMs on Corsair site, but I'm pretty sure it's Corsair memory unless someone is rebranding DIMMs with your stickers..

Details on the sticker:

CMS4GX3M1A1333C9

4GB 2Rx4 PC3-10600R-9-10-E1

114906425-2649372

Doesn't PC3-10600R stand for buffered DDR3-1333?
