homestyle
Would using a UPS help in lowering or eliminating my PSU's buzz while idle? The PSU buzzes when the system is idling with low wattage. AX650.
peanutz94
I seriously doubt it. ! It would have no effect on the PSU operation except at power loss situations. If it is that loud that it's bothersome you can have the unit replaced.

GeneralEclectic
Would using a UPS help in lowering or eliminating my PSU's buzz while idle? Most likely not, but under a very unusual set of circumstances, it's at least possible. You would have to have 1) a very noisy, distorted AC line that causes 2) ratty current waveforms in the PSU's input filter circuitry that 3) emits noises due to magnetostriction, and 4) could be corrected by a full-online UPS with a very clean synthesized output. Not too likely, but not completely impossible.
