tsd14
Hi everyone, I hope everyone is doing great. I'm looking for a little help. I have a computer from a boutique manufacturer and it is a Z97 configuration, but my mobo is Z87. I have Corsair Dominator Platinum with Corsair Link Connector — 1.65V 16GB (2 X 8GB) Dual Channel DDR3 Memory Kit (CMD16GX3M2A2400C10) in it. I'm concerned though because the page for this memory only lists compatibility with Intel® Z77, X79 Platform. Neither of those match my mobo (Z87) or my configuration (Z97). Can anyone tell me if I am ok? Thank you.
emissary42
They should work like a charm on any Z87 or Z97 setup. Edit: I don't really understand what you're trying to say with "it is a Z97 configuration, but my mobo is Z87". You either have a mainboard using Intel Z87 or Z97 chipset. Not that it matters much in case of the memory used.
tsd14
Thank you for your help. I honestly don't know what "Z97 Configuration" means either, I didn't notice it until after I purchased my computer. My mobo is definitely Z87. As long as the memory works with mobo, I'm good. Thanks again.
emissary42
It does sound like false advertising to me. But as long as you did not pay extra for a "Z97 configuration" over the "Z87 configuration" that you received...
