Pimprenelle
Hello all! I have a silly question. Someone just bought me a Ram kit, the 16gb 2666mhz Vengeance Pro (CMW16GX4M2A2666C16). My problem is, it is not listed in my motherboard ram compatibility (Msi z390 Pro Carbon). The Cpu is a i9 9900K Will this work correctly or should I return the kit to a listed one? Thank you in advance, Pimprenelle.
Corsair Employee Corsair CJ Posted July 8, 2019 Corsair Employee Share Posted July 8, 2019 (Moving thread to DRAM section) 2666MHz RAM should generally just work on Z390. The thing with motherboard QVLs is that they don't exactly validate all kits of RAM and they don't always update the QVL when new kits come out. If it were a higher speed rating, I'd try to stick to QVL to be safe, but you should be fine in this case.
