2 x 6+2 pin Modular Cord

So, this is a really dumb general question, but this is my first modular PSU, so I have never dealt with a 6+2 pin cord with 2 in-line.

I know back in the day, with IDE, molex, etc. it was rule of thumb that whatever you want to have the most power, juice, or speed you connect to the connector on the very end of the cord.

So, I was just wondering if this was still true today with these 2 x 6+2 pin cables given? Not a big deal either way, I suppose, just was doing some cable management and thought about that, but couldn't find anything on Google.

It's not true today.

Nor was it true back in the day (despite whatever might have been done).

Wire is a resistor. Resistors convert electrical energy into heat. The more wire, the more energy is lost. Putting the highest load thing on the biggest resistor makes no sense and is wrong. So ya, it's still wrong ;)

The IDE standard did have a thing where the primary drive was attached to the end of the cable. But this was about signalling, not power.
