jkrockwell
I have a sg ssd drive and and recently bought the newer xt. I cloned the older sg drive onto the xt. the sg is noticably faster. Looking at the specs, the sg has faster Sequential Reads than any other corsiar drive.I notice the difference. so what is it that makes the xt and the gtx supposedly more expensive and superior to the gs. Dawei87
What speeds are you getting from the drives? Care to post the name of the testing software you are using, the results and also your system specs? The XT series should be able to maintain higher consistent read/write speeds than the gs, even if the gs has some occasional speed burst that are a little faster. There is a chance because of this you might get faster boot times from the gs, but prolonged read/write operations should be much faster on the xt. The xt would show more benefit when dealing with large files like when recording/transcoding video. Some testing software will not test for consistent speeds, and therefore fail to show the advantages of higher performance drives.
