LL 120 fans LEDS not lighting up

I have three white LL 120 fans in my PC, and they all run fine. Though one of the fans will barely light up and if it does it is the four lights in the center and then one random LED along the edge. The other two fans have the core LEDs working and then half of the fan is lit up on the edge. Sometimes all of the fans' LEDs don't even turn on when I boot up. Is there any way to fix this?

RGB fans work in series, so every fan passes the RGB signal to the next one.

So a faulty fan can light up correctly for itself, but be unable to pass the signal to the next one of the chain... this results in a non-faulty fan not lighting up correctly.

Things to do:

1) try each fan in port 1 of the RGB hub and check if all light up well.

2) put only a fan in port 1 and 1 in port 2, and check.

3) if all light up well, go for the 3rd in port 3.

4) if the third does not light up well, swap fans 2 and 3 and check.

5) update the thread! 8-D

I tried what you said and it kind of works. Two of my fans work fine and the other one only has the core and one LED lighting up. Really I am fine with this I can just put the bad one behind my drive cage. Thanks for your help.

Never mind, my pleasure!

But does the faulty fan always act weird independently from the position in the chain?

If so, there's no doubt left... RMA if it's suitable.
