Asus P7H55-m Pro 16Gb Upgrade

hi corsair team ;):

I have some questions :

I have a Asus P7h55-m Pro Motherboard With 4*2Gb of DDR3 and I want to replace all of them with a 4*4Gb kit or a least two 2*4Gb Kits But after couple of day without sleeping on google I can’t make a good choice for a total Compatibility…and finally I will annoying you :D:

I try your memory selector but Asus p7h55-m pro is no longer listed …

Web site: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P7H55M_PRO/

Last PDF Documentation : http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1156/P7H55-M_PRO/E5321_P7H55-M_PRO_v2.zip

What I know, P7h55-m pro:

- Have an intel h55 chipset

- Support 4 x DIMM, Max. 16 GB, DDR3 2133(O.C.)*/1333/1066 Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory - Dual Channel memory architecture - Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP)

- does not support DIMMs made up of 512Mb (64MB) chips or less (High density Memory???)

- ,due to intel spec definition, X.M.P. DIMM and DDR3-1600 are supported for one DIMM per channel only (but I think Ram With SPD @1333Mhz can be manually up to 1600Mhz in BIOS Setup –If You Can Confirm That? --)

What I read on forums:

- H55 chipset (maybe p7h55-m pro) doesn’t work with High density Memory (apparently)

Well to be easy what is compatible with this motherboard ?:

- 1)Two kit of Corsair Vengeance Pro Series 8 Go (2 x 4Go) DDR3 1600 MHz CL9 Blue Kit Dual Channel RAM DDR3 PC3-12800 - CMY8GX3M2A1600C9B

You motherboard is not listed and the closest is http://www2.corsair.com/configurator/new_configurator_product_results.aspx?sc=&id=1522765.

I suspect your option #10 (http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/vengeance-low-profile-blue-16gb-dual-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cml16gx3m4a1600c9b) is the only sensible option.

You should get a one 4 x 4GB kit rather than two 2 x 4GB kits to ensure all 4 DIMMs are matched.

Thank you for reply I am very grateful for that

I do exactly the same way choose a Mobo very very close with H55 Chipset instead of H57 Chipset on Asus Mobo but I afraid to make a bad choice :sigh!:

and after weeks of research I have the same opinion than you : Corsair vengeance Low profile … Or Corsair dominator …

Corsair vengeance Low profile SPD 1333Mhz 1.5v and up to 1600Mhz with 1.5v too, but (“but” is always the problem lol) I show a lots of threads where p7h55m doesn’t boot or recognize this DDR3 due high density memory architecture (https://www.computerbase.de/forum/showthread.php?t=1309753, http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2882094/p7h55-motherboard-vengeance-2x4-ram-compatibility.html, http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=128349&highlight=p7h55-m) and one thread with the P7h55m pro with corsair vengeance blue 4*4Go (I guess it’s Low Profile Version) and it work (http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2819974/upgrade.html) and Corsair ram Expert say the same as you :(http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=107477&highlight=p7h55) I expect this RAM maybe had a revision of architecture of memory with time to High density memory…

Also I know with this thread (http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=95332) apparently Corsair vengeance is tested on sandy bridge Mobo and have High density memory, I guess corsair vengeance LP (not pro version) can be compatible …

also, For second choice (and it cost more than corsair vengeance low Profile, but I have a great low price with summer sale on it :p:) : two kit of Corsair Dominator 8 Go (2x 4 Go) DDR3 1600 MHz CL9 Kit Dual Channel RAM DDR3 PC12800 – CMP8GX3M2A1600C9 according with corsair forum thread of a p7h55m user (http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=107477&highlight=p7h55) and I think Dominator is upper quality than vengeance series and oldest too, I guess this DDR have no High density Memory …

Finally if I can’t grab more responses of p7h55m pro user (or expert) on this post, I think I will buy two kit Dominator 8 Go (2x 4 Go) DDR3 1600 MHz CL9 Kit Dual Channel RAM DDR3 PC12800 – CMP8GX3M2A1600C9 and if it’s not compatible I try to exchange with One Kit of Corsair Vengeance Low Profile Blue Series 16 Go (4x 4 Go) DDR3 1600 MHz CL9 Kit Dual Channel 4 -RAM DDR3 PC12800 - CML16GX3M4A1600C9B buy to my favorite reseller who can accept exchange easily

Again, that very nice to you to help me , Thanx Dude :p:

kind regards

Hello,

Thank for this thread very useful.

I have Same Needs than Nico ( on pourrait parler en French ! )

I got a CML16GX3M4A1600C9B kit as a Second option you proposed.

But it doesn't work.

The machine reboot many time and freeze on ASUS Welcome Screen ( ASUS P7H55-M PRO ). BIOS is up to date ( version 1709 01/04/2011 ) and setup with default values before to put this kit. I decided to return this kit.

So I'm going to try to get 2 kit of CMP8GX3M2A1600C9 as validated by Nico.

Nico Is there something special to do when putting the 2 kit ?

Default BIOS Setup should allow me to boot ?

I'll see later how to use the memory at 1600..

Regards, merci d'avance !

Salut fabien,

voila ^^

Hi fabien,

yes I have 16GB (4 * 4GB) on my p7h55-m pro, at the boot I set to default SPD at boot (basic configuration of the ram) was set to 1333 Mhz then I chose The XMP 1600Mhz value and everything works correctly .. but I have to change to my supplier twice because one RAM kit had defect and only 8GB was detected instead of 16GB and at the 3rd change, everything worked perfectly ...
