Wrong tittle sorry. It is HX1200 not AX. I know fan on this thing kicks in when it needed. But even with overclocked cpu (8086k running 5ghz),Radeon 5700 XT (2k mhz), 8x usb device, stress - benchmark doesn't make fan to work. IS THAT NORMAL? Edited by nacres

Probably since it is a 1200 watt PSU. In the default mode, the fan will trigger under certain conditions. There is a graph in the product manual (and probably on the box as well) that shows the base curve. There are some additional safety triggers related to temperature. Even at 5.0, your CPU may only be using 135-160W. It's a 225W GPU (give or take), so at full blast you are still under ~400W where you might see the fan kick on. Maybe on a hot Summer day it kicks on sooner or on a cold Winter morning - never. Heat and watts is not a function of what your system is doing in one moment of time. The duration is relevant and 4 hours of gaming is going to be more taxing than 10 minutes of some stress test or bench.

I don't know if that model has a "fan test" button/pin hole to provoke the fan.

A 1200W Platinum efficiency rated PSU is going to have to get pretty damn hot to spin up. Like a pair of R9 295X2 in a 40°C room kind of hot.

You essentially have yourself a "fanless power supply" with the build you've got.
