Jankovsky
Hello, I just bought H115i RGB Platinum and found out that it's not compatible with my Socket which is LGA1151. Bought it online so I couldn't check it on the box. On several shops in web there's information that it is in fact compatible with this socket, but the information on the box says it's not and I'm not sure if maybe I'm doing something wrong. I can't find this cooling on the official site so I need to ask here. Right now I will return it but can someone let me know which cooling is compatible with 1151 because H100i is also allegedly compatible and I don't want to be dissapointed again. Thank you Edited August 13, 2019 by Jankovsky I put wrong information in title, it's not Pro but RGB Platinum
DevBiker
The H115i Platinum is absolutely, positively compatible with all Intel 115x sockets. There are several "flavors" of 115x ... 1151 is one of them. Why do you think it's not compatible?
Jankovsky
I tried to install it but the "mount" part on the processor socket does not fit - the holes are not compatible with the mounting part of the cooling. Is it something I'm doing wrong then? If it's compatible with all 115x sockets then it should be with mine. Or am i going crazy?
DevBiker
You need to have the correct bracket installed on the cooler. But that should be the default. You also need to put on the backplate and the right standoffs.
Jankovsky
Bracket is already installed on the cooler, the problem is backplate - I can't install it because the holes in the motherboard are not fitting. I will check again though, maybe I did something wrong before.
