cc10101
you would want first at the bottom so lighting heads up and over the top and towards the back and then down the back if that makes sense That makes sense. I have the pattern (Visor over static color) applied to all the RGB devices: keyboard, mouse, memory, case fans, 1000D front panel, and sails logo. I had the system up and running w/a H150i Pro, 8 fans in front, 3 on top, and 2 at the back, plus the other devices listed above. The Visor pattern would start at one end of the chain of devices and fans, work it's way through them all to the last device (the mouse), then work backwards the way it came until it reached the first device again. So it cycled forwards and backwards; not around in a circle, apparently. Or at least that's what appeared to me to be happening. Given that, I'm thinking that, for the Visor pattern at least, the order of the fans doesn't matter so much because the lighting will visit them in one direction and then visit them in the opposite direction. HamEinar
Can someone please clarify the setup in the promo picture for the 1000D: This photo is placed directly over the information stating that the default configuration for radiators is 2x480 in the front and 1x420 in the top - which would be perfect for me, but is that top rad a 420 or a 360 (looks like a 360....) DevBiker
In the promo? I think that's 2x 360 up top, which requires a new (and hard to find) 8x120 tray. If you want to 2x 480 and 1x 420, you'll be in good shape. No need to wait for that unicorn tray to come in stock.
HamEinar
Yeah figured that much - and seeing that the setup would be 2 x NexXxoS XT45 480 and one NexXxoS XT45 420 all push/pull that would leave me wanting for space.. Argh... so close (you really shouldn't put that picture above the description of the default config of the case) - and I've noticed that the 8x120 tray is more of an urban legend than an actual option. Not wanting to hijack this thread, but do you think a 280 in the top + the two 480s in the front would be sufficient to cool a hard working TR4 3960X and two Titan RTXs? (With an extra 140mm exhaust fan mounted at the end of the standard 420 tray).
Zotty
Trays do come in and out of stock often.. was in stock a few days ago.. but none the less. if you need one and cant find one.. contact support. they have been keen to help other users in the past.. cc10101
Thanks, Zotty. It'll be tight, but I'll give it a test fit. Edit: I deleted the follow-up question I had asked. I got the answer from DevBiker over in his cables thread. Thanks again. You probably hear this a lot around 'these forums, but you (and DevBiker) are awesome. Responding to my own post just to confirm that yes, two EKWB XE480 rads will fit on the front of the Obsidian 1000D in a push/pull config (using LL120 RGB fans). Clearance even seems pretty decent, maybe 8-12 mm or so. Important Note: the two rads WILL NOT FIT onto a 1000D fan tray without having the fans installed between the rads and the fan tray. The rads are too wide given the bent edges of the fan trays. The fans raise the rads high enough away from the fan tray to make it work. Having said that, I have no idea what the manufacturing tolerances are for either the 1000D or the LL120s or the XE480 rads. So clearances might be far tighter, or it might not even fit w/other combinations of those things. I'd give it a cautious thumbs up for others looking to use those rads in this case in a push/pull config. Tolerances would have pretty bad among the various manufacturers to not fit. Thanks Hey buddy... there is no picture of the back.. all builds are different and 64 fan cables alone doesnt make for a lovely managed rear lol... but hopefully this helps..... http://i.imgur.com/iKMcqpHl.png front for reference... http://i.imgur.com/pKq1LH1l.jpg

Ketanjal
Hey Guys, I've been lurking around for a while on this forum . But now it's time to post a bit here :sunglasse. I have to say Zotty and Devbiker... You guys have helped me out a ton so big shout out to both of you! Since there is no holiday for me in this current COVID situation and I work as an independent contractor (AEC Modelling and Design) it was time for me to invest/play around a bit. So I've built two systems. 1 in a 500D case (Ryzen 3700X build) soft tubing and now started in the 1000D case (Threadripper 3970X build), which I want to do with hard tubing. Already started out getting used to bending and must say I prefer Acryllic over PETG  For the last one.. My idea was to go double 480 XR7 rads in Push Pull and a 420 XR5 on top also in push pull. Now I've been trying to read through everything and even in the build guide on the HydroX Loop Config... They say you can fit that into here with fans only on 1 side.. Now my question is if anybody has any experience with putting the Front rads in Push Pull and the Top 420 rad in push pull. If so, did it fit with all fans? Or did you have to make space and remove the 2 top fans of the front rads? Since I already have had a derp with 2 140 Fans in the back that didn't fit.. I'd like to not return the 5 QL140's I have  but if the 420 rad will not fit I might have to go 2x360 rad like Zotty did. Hope everybody is healthy and safe in this weird crisis  Cheers, Ketanjal (editted the thickness of the rads) Edited June 1, 2020 by Ketanjal

Zotty
quick update.. build is in bits.. plumbing in VRM blacks and replacing fittings with bends. SerchioQ
Hello guys, a new 1000D owner here. I have seen a lot of useful info in this topic so maybe you will be able to help me figure out one detail for my new build. I am planning to put 2x480mmx54mm rads + 1x420mmx45mm in that case. I would like to put these two 480mm rads on the top but I am not sure whether the fan try 8x120 will be able to withstand the load of these rads with water. It will be approximately 5kg in load in total. Has anyone tried that yet? I am not able to check it myself because I am still waiting for my rads to arrive. Thanks for any feedback. xolinlevh
Question. How did you route the front fan cables so they arent visible? I have the same build going and am struggling to find a way to hide them cleanly.

And one really dumb clarification question, since the QL120s have 2x cables each (one for RGB hub, one for power), can i use those Pirate dog cables for both? or do i need to use specific different types? does it matter?
