They are connected to your motherboard, yes? You'd configure them in the BIOS or with the motherboard software.
iCUE will only control fans connected to Corsair coolers or the Commander Pro.

Nope, that's not going to work. The protocol (WS2812B) is the same. The pinouts are different.
There is an adapter available from a third party though. Or you can make one.

Yes, they should be there. They may be tucked away. You should have 2 USB 3.0 motherboard connectors and 2 USB-C motherboard connectors.

Yeah, I've seen this. It seems to happen particularly when the system resumes from sleep.
To resolve, I plugged it into an internal USB Hub (from NZXT) that I have. Haven't had the issue since.

But you should have at least 2 of the USB ports working if it's connected to the motherboard. USB-C will have a different connector.

And, last but not least, manually updating the firmware can cause issues, especially if you put the wrong firmware on...

I don't know what that controller is but it isn't Corsair. I've never seen it, personally and you are, at this point, better off trying to contact the manufacturer of the case that it came with.
