I had this when using the AMD AHCI driver, change it in device manager to Standard ATA AHCI adapter 1.0, reboot and then try. Worked fine for me, on 1.3.2 now on a 790GX board.

The file may or may not have a .ROM extension - this was just to highlight the file needs to be a raw binary dump of the BIOS, not a zipped one or a self-extracting BIOS which contains the ROM...

AHCIMOD is used to modify the SB800.bin...
