Thanks for the tip. The BIOS I'm using is 1006.004, which is dated 7/1/04, while 1006 is dated 6/18/04. I was using 1006 before I switched to .004.

Is there any reason to relax the timings as...

So far, upping the voltage to 2.8 seems to pass memtest86+ 1.20 at 2-2-2-5.

I still can't overclock by raising the FSB, but I'm blaming that on the immaturity of the BIOS at this point and not on...

Ok, so I saw the other threads on this. Sorry for making a new one without checking first.

Anyway, I'm going to try bumping up the ram voltage to 2.8 and down rev'ing to 1006 (non-beta) bios.

Could have something to do with the fact that Windows XP issues NOOPs when idle, which will cool the CPU down a lot. Basically, when the CPU isn't doing anything, Windows turns it "off" for a clock...
