Get a Hiren's BootCD, run Mini XP, and do the update from there. You'll have better luck there than in UBCD4Win.

Guys, just boot to Mini XP in a Hiren's BootCD disc, it will work. This is no biggie. Spread the word if it works for you.

It's a driver thing, I had the same issue even with Win7 x64. Boot up a Live XP(like in Hirens), or any Windows PE environment for that matter, and run the update tool. It should find your drive...

Ok, NM. I loaded up a Live XP disc I had laying around and it ran/updated the firmware fine when I ran the tool under that. I'm now on 2.0 so I guess we'll wait and see.

Yeh..... My drive is not showing up in the update tool. I've tried running as admin, running normally, loading up both (normal/alternative) firmware files, and running from a separate storage drive....

Same here. I can't remote into my work computer from onsite jobs/home anymore for the same reason. And I can't let hot swapped drives scan overnight anymore... It really puts me behind on my bench.

Meh... I could only wish it (using IDE/ATA mode) was that simple for me. The F60 is in our backup system, so hot swapping is pretty much a necessity.

I was offered the beta firmware but the issue persists. As to whether it fixed other setups, I cannot say. I can only hope that others were luckier than I.
