The system will be: Motherboard - Asus Rampage IV Formula X79 http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_2011/Rampage_IV_Formula/#MSL CPU -Intel Core i7-3930K http://ark.intel.com/products/63697/Intel-Core-i7-3930K-Processor-(12M-Cache-3_20-GHz)?wapkw=3930k Memory - Corsair (?) Vengeance 32GB SKU# CMZ32GX3M4X1600C10 http://www.corsair.com/memory/intel-memory-upgrades/quad-channel-intel-memory-upgrade-kits/vengeance-32gb-quad-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cmz32gx3m4x1600c10.html or Dominator 32GB SKU# CMP32GX3M4X1600C10 http://www.corsair.com/memory/intel-memory-upgrades/quad-channel-intel-memory-upgrade-kits/dominator-with-dhx-pro-connector-1-5v-32gb-dual-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cmp32gx3m4x1600c10.html Will the ram kit run without any need o OC in it's stock speeds? Will it have some compatibility issue of any kind? Will I be able (ram wise) to OC them? Is there a difference in performance or lifetime? I've read the specifications and looked for reviews and posts here, the QLV manual from Asus, but all I could get is that they are the same, but that can't be right. Just cosmetic difference? It's needed to run your memory at that frequency, even though your CPU supports 1600mhz memory. Will it have some compatibility issue of any kind? You shouldn't with either kit. However the Vengeance modules were designed for the SandyBridge platfor and may be a better choice. Will I be able (ram wise) to OC them?Corsair can only guarantee rated speeds. Nothing more. The only way to find out is try and no two sets will overclock the same if they overclock at all. Is there a difference in performance or lifetime? Not really. They are both pretty close in specs, but may be made from different IC's that may or may not help performance or overclocking abilities. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
