  1. Thank you for the replies. Then I know what to expect when pushing these limits. However, I actually ended up not buying that monitor. I saw some news about a 4k 144hz odyssey monitor that I am now waiting for.
  2. Right, completely forgot about reviews, twitter and those other platforms. Hoping for wise decisions on future Corsair One products!
  3. This is probably a very stupid post but I wanted to post it anyway. I was looking at monitors and learned that Eve are making a monitor called Spectrum. The interesting part here is they have asked customers what they wanted and ended up with creating three monitors. You can check them out here: https://evedevices.com/pages/full-specs So the idea behind this post is to ask if Corsair could consider asking their potential consumers what they want with the next corsair one. I see on this forum that e.g. at corsair one i160 lacks USB c input which consumers wanted for e.g. VR headsets. I'm saying if Corsair made survey of what consumers want and maybe including a price range for certain components (e.g. cpu and gpu combo) it could also help consumers partake in economical decision. I think this could help Corsair to make something that fits the bulk average of consumers, but also let the consumers themselves have a say on what to get. this could for instance let Corsair know that e.g. people were missing USB C so this could have been an included feature. It looks like for Eve Spectrum that this type of research works as the consumers have voiced their opinion towards three different monitor specs with three different price range to suit their needs. What do you guys think?
  4. So the new RTX 3000 cards brings new great possibilities. With the HDMI 2.1 it allows to usage of adaptive sync on TV so therefore, corsair one with its form factor featuring RTX3080/3090 could bring competition as a console for TV's but also work great as a computer. Of course it is more expensive but still I think it would serve a great addition to be able to use the HDMI 2.1 features. There is also a high chance that future new monitors may feature HDMI 2.1 instead of DP as high end input since it does not require any DSC feature (please correct me if I'm wrong). Last I checked, a possible DP 2.0 is far from being possible (Possibly ready in 2021 or 2022). For myself, I already own the corsair i160, so I wont be purchasing a new system if that would be considered. I have, however, considered to sell my unit for 50% and purchase a new desktop computer with RTX 3090 for 4k 144fps gaming, but even with a 50% off, I dont think I will be able to sell the unit as that is still something like 2000 dollar (or euro in my case with tax) and I dont think people want to spend that kind of money on used market. Another final thought for people like me who already own a unit, I do think I could consider an upgrade package if Corsair were to offer one, e.g. upgrade to RTX 3080/3090. The 3080 would at least provide proper 4k 60fps with ray tracing and hdmi 2.1 features as a "console" for TV's What do you guys think? I also wonder what Corsair thinks. I highly believe that if Corsair one i160-i65 users were given upgrade opportunity, it would certainly be more appealing than considering a whole new system and then selling old system for highly likely less than 30% of buyout price. I haven't really checked the dimensions (e.g. length, width, depth) of the cards so I dont really know if this is possible at all. I would at least really like to know if this could at least be remotely possible.
  5. I'd actually really appreciate if we were offered a solution to replace the 2080 TI with a 3080/3090 in the old i160 system.
  6. Update: I've recently learned that I'm asking if the internal cables support Display Stream Compression (DSC). Might be wrong, but I think all 20- generation cards supports DSC while older generation does not. However, as there are other internal cables inside C1, I dont know if they will support this bandwidth. edit: typos
  7. I tried to google this myself, but I could not find any information on what bandwidth the internal DP cables are. I'm quite confident that DP 1.4 would support 1440p 240Hz at least, but not sure if it supports full 10 bit (or HDR10) :P would be pleased if anyone who knows could tell. edit: I think I was not clear of what I asked so I ask if internal DP cables support 1440p + 240Hz + 10bit color depth
  8. Right, then intentions here is not to call out on Corsair for using a solution that limits the potential output of the hardware but more to learn whether or not we can expect the corsair one i160 to be able to output 1440p 240hz. I also added the 10 bit color depth as I think this will also require some additional data (I think the usual color depth on most monitor today is 8 bit). In other words, I was hoping someone here has direct knowledge on the matter instead of me starting to google for hours to learn this myself. It would kind of suck if I decide to go for the monitor and then the computer wont be able to utilize the monitors potential.
  9. Hello there! I'm tempted to purchase the new Samsung Odyssey g7 which features 10bit color, 240Hz 1440p monitor. I have a few concerns if the DP cable from the 2080TI inside corsair one to the chassis will support this as I kinda heard a comment from Jayztwocent video where he mods the corsair one that the cables inside the chassis are downgraded. monitor: https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/monitors/gaming/27--odyssey-g7-gaming-monitor-lc27g75tqsnxza/ jay video: [ame] [/ame] look at 04:00 minutes into the video. Looking forward to answers from the community. Sincerely regards!
  10. Dear all, I intend to purchase the LG OLED C9 (65inches) for HDR movies and gaming. The intention for this particular TV is that it is able to use G-sync as it features a HDMI 2.1 output. However, I came to learn that my Corsair one i160 only has HDMI 2.0a and now I question if this will work. Do anyone know anything about this?
  11. Hello there! I recently discovered there's a new model, i165 which feature a 960GB NVME ssd instead of 460. It appears to be only available in the US. I'm assuming this is gonna be available in EU as well. I would like to know an estimation of when it would be able to be purchased in EU and an estimation of price if possible. Many thanks in advance. Sincere Kenneth Nilsen
  12. Hello there! This looks really great! Very pleased with this information, thank you. Sincere Kenneth Nilsen
  13. Hello there! Many thanks once again for your time and patience to answer my questions. I'll be looking forward to see if the economics goes my way and I'll have my own Corsair one i160 by beginning of autumn. Sincere kenneth Nilsen
  14. Hello there! Many thanks for the time to answer my questions. Really appreciated. I've taken some time to look through the forum and I'm convinced that Corsair has carefully picked parts for the corsair one to optimise the thermals for the cpu and gpu. It is known that higher performing m.2 and ram can significantly increase the temperatures as they have their own cooling solutions in extreme cases, but this is usually ignored as normal midi towers are quite spacious and wont be affected. I have decided to save money for corsair one, hopefully I'll afford it by the end of summer. However, I don't think I will customise it unless a significant improvement in performance is guaranteed. I do believe that Corsair have looked through the alternatives already and done their homework on this product. I do, however, wonder if anyone has tried my currently favorite games: Apex, BF5, PUBG and/or COD: BO4 on this product with 1080p, 1440p and/or 2160p resolution and has some indicated of expected average fps and temperature during gameplay? Sincere kenneth Nilsen.
  15. Hello there! I'm a enthusiast gamer with a job that requires long term business travels. I came across the corsair one by youtube reviewers and I was impressed. However, there are some question I would like to ask before I commit to save money. Ambient temperature: I currently live in north Finland which is an area with high seasonal temperature variation, e.g. during winter the ambient temperature can be on average -30 degrees celsius while summer can in periods be above +30 degrees celsius. Could this high ambient summer temperature cause performance problems for corsair one i160? Custom components: I learned that that we can change the hard drives and ram in the corsair one. Would it be possible to ask for a custom made corsair one with the desired upgrade on ram and hard drives (e.g. ram with higher speed and m.2 with larger storage)? It would save me time and money by not buying additional components, replacing them and possibly damaging the corsair one unit in the process. I'm also interested in knowing if its possible to order with a Z390 motherboard. I don't know if this affects gaming performance, but I assume it has some positive effect. If this is not possible, thats fine, but I would really like to know why. Appreciate any answer I can get. Sincere Kenneth Nilsen
