  1. Well, Corsairs refusal to acknowledge this or give a straight answer made up my mind. Razer might not have any better support but I prefer their software. For a headset for those who want great side tone. The arctics pro was it for me. Good luck and goodbye.
  2. I highly recommend the arctics pro wireless. great sidetone, good audio, two batteries, etc.
  3. Hey Nick, Any updates for us? It looks like there's a few others out there that would like some more sidetone volume.
  4. A quick note Nick. I bought another set in mocha (the new color line. I know same hardware). I'm sure to no ones surprise same "issue". The side tone is there, it works, its just not loud enough for me. The void or steelcase pro wireless at max volume on the side tone is actually TOO loud. This would be the perfect headset if I could get just a little more sidetone so I stop talking funny.
  5. I used the k95 for a few years first as silvers. which i got really comfy typing on. then I decided to upgrade to the xt with blues. Now im on to a k100 with optx and I really like the light touch and smoothness of each keystroke. I write code, accuracy isn't super important to me as I don't need to bang out 100wpm... thats just not how coding goes. write some, think, write some more. ICue can be far more complex than what i found in ghub. I did like the feel of the switches on the g900something wireless but ghub was just so lacking. The only things im hungup on are the headset and mouse. The logitech hero g502 is a good mouse, and the constant wireless charging with power play is a killer feature for me. Never had to plug the mouse in plus no cord ever in the way. Same with the headset. I just cant find anything with all the features the steelseries pro wireless has. Its frustrating as I'd like all corsair.
  6. Having tried Razer, Steelseries, hyperx, logitech G over the last two weeks. (the lady at best buy returns knows me by name now.) I can tell you that in terms of refinement Razer synapse seems to be the winner and has a cleaner user experience(UX). Corsair's ICUE is a very very close second. Some examples. Razer allows you to position your devices in the synapse app. For example a RGB wave across all of your devices. With corsair it looks weird if your desk setup is not laid out exactly as whatever they thought of when they built the software. Synapse on the other hand I can arrange the virtual devices to be the same layout as my desk and things obviously look at lot better. Razer allows audio responsive RGB layers regardless of the audio source. Corsair are the only jerks who intentionally limit this to their hardware (Void visualizer). At the same time though. the audio visualizers in Synapse or ghub, and steelseries for that matter are far more limited. I also find Corsairs hardware to be more feature laden and well thought out compared to most others. I find myself wanting to use one brand for unity and just needing one software running. but in reality each manufacture seems to have a BEST piece of hardware. I find the optical switches on the k100 a great fit for me (typing on it now). I think I'm a pretty good typist I prefer the light touch vs blues or browns. I like the macro keys for work. The LED lighting seems brighter and more balanced around the whole key. The others seems to be very bright only at the top of the key. Not the best look with puddings. Logitech on the other hand makes the best mouse / mouse pad combo simply because of the power play charging. I've tried wireless keyboards but they make little sense, the battery life just isn't there and I have to plug it in half way through the day. On the other hand nothing annoys me more than the mouse wire disrupting its use. With the G502 and the power play charging mouse pad the mouse is always charging and never needs to be plugged in. Brilliant. The Ghub software is very limited however. Then there is the headset another important tool in the life of a programmer. I need something that doesn't look ridiculous on Teams calls, plus I want great audio for music, and for me if I can't hear myself talk I sound like an idiot. The sweet spot here for me is the steelseries pro wireless. You get the handy transmitter/"dac". The devices shows up as two devices in windows. One for game audio and one for chat. This is great if I want to listen to music during a meeting. Yes you can just change the volume in spotify but its handy to be able to adjust the balance right from the headset or transmitter station. Steelseries Engine however? Meh. Long story short. I can sort of understand your frustration but the reality is there isn't anything better.
  7. Thats spot on. The side tone is there, it works, its just way to low. The sidetone volume itself has to go up meaning the people on the other end wouldn't hear that bump in volume. The wireless void pro is a good example of this Nick. Try one of those with sidetone at max in icue. I think you'll hear what we are talking about.
  8. Well no one get me wrong. Still love my corsair gear. I happen to be out of the house for a while so I've been trying some other brands for more wireless options. This problem is very far from unique to Corsair. Logitech, razer, and steelseries all have very low sidetone on their top end headsets. I really liked the idea of the "dac" on the steelseries but their wireless signal is garbage. sidetone no better. I think the void pro's excellent sdetone (only needed to be 75% in icue) spoiled me. It was the only headset I can use without pulling one ear out. Ill also say this. Razer is way ahead of ghub(logitech), but neither is as good as ICUE. Oh yeah and neither headset i mentioned has audio as good and have other trade offs... usb c, no accelerometer for power on and off, etc.
  9. A couple other points. My mic volume when recording and on calls is loud and clear. I can hear the clacks of my k95 xt (blue) very well via side tone. I don't understand why my voice isn't louder.
  10. Any update on this? I'd really like to know if this is something corsair can eventually fix via software changes, or if it is just the way it will be with the current hardware. I love the headset. Music sounds good, good fit on my head, I love the auto on and off via accelerometer(even my Bose qcII wont do that right). Plus it looks a lot more profession on conference calls than the void pro. but I absolutely cannot talk right without good side tone.
  11. Thanks Nick I replied. Seems like either the forum software doesn't show my sent messages or it didn't send for reason. Let me know if you got it
  12. I'm running 3.34.170 and just bought the virtuoso headset. I had a wired void pro, which had very weak side tone. Then I bought a wireless void pro, amazing side tone. Then I recently bought a virtuoso, terrible side tone. Is this handled at the hardware level or can it be correct via a software/firmware change? I primarily use this for work and web meetings and the side tone is very very important to me.
  13. I'm hitting the same thing. I upgraded from a void pro which had very loud side tone. I usually left the slider at half and could hear myself perfectly. With the virtuoso at max I can hardly hear myself at all. :[pouts: Can someone from Corsair tell us if this can be fixed with software of firmware changes? Or is it a hardware thing that's just going to be the way it is?
  14. Windows 10 latest (not insider) while listening to spotify the headset will tell me shutdown has started but then it never shuts down.
