I tried this method on a Win 8 laptop, got to the end, said finished, then gave a write error message when closing the program. I tried making it a bootable drive with Acronis and Marium Reflect. I tried the regedit method on a Win Pro laptop and Desktop, Brand new Win 10 Pro laptop (1 day old) Win 8.1 laptop. Still write-protected. I tried using chkdsk, nope. I tried going to the 4 folder and unchecking the read-only box, telling it to ignore all, still write protected. I tried EaseUS Tools M to remove write protection. Tried plain old format, couldn't.
