  1. This has been resolved now, I don't require any more assistance.
  2. Hi, I did an advanced RMA for a faulty Corsair RM1000i, the replacement works great, thanks. However, although the faulty PSU was received on the 1st of July by the Netherlands RMA centre my card still hasn't been refunded for the $199.99 (£162.xx) holding charge. My ticket ID is #2001240513. I'd be grateful for any updates on the situation, I understand and appreciate that things are taking longer due to COVID but I'm just checking in case I've been lost in the system.
  3. Isn't the AX850 based on Seasonic's superior Prime Titanium platform? In that case I think it's better than both the AX860i and the HX 1000i electrically and has Titanium class power efficiency. I do like the digital management though and can understand your frustration in this regard. However, if it were me I would take the AX850 as it's an upgrade for the reasons I stated.
  4. I am in the same position (a component inside my RM1000i blew up), Covid-19 has unfortunately caused a worldwide shortage of PSUs according to Gamers Nexus (all retailers I've looked at have low or no stock) so we may be in for a long wait.
  5. Thanks for letting me know, I'll be sure to bear this in mind when I get the replacement.
  6. Once every day or two, I'm afraid. I will stop doing it, I didn't know it was a problem. So this could be what caused the issue then? Out of interest, does Corsair make PSUs that would not be vulnerable to this and if so which ones?
  7. Hi, it's this one: https://www.apc.com/shop/uk/en/products/APC-Home-Office-SurgeArrest-6-outlets-with-Phone-Protection-230V-UK/P-PH6T3-UK It has a surge energy rating of 2030 Joules. I'm surprised that such a surge would damage the PSU yet leave my other components intact, (I didn't notice anything unusual although I know you wouldn't necessarily notice it). I have a Dell monitor, Corsair SP2500 speakers and a network switch hooked up to the same surge protector and they were fine. Could the fact that the input voltage was intermittently reported as 115V have anything to do with this? I also noticed that the PSU would sometimes make a popping noise if I turned it on via the switch on the back, could this have caused the varistor to blow?
  8. The PSU stopped dropping to 115V for the past few weeks, but yesterday I tried to turn the PC on and nothing happened except for the motherboard light coming on. The PSU has died after 4.5 years of service: Some little bits of metal wire came out of the PSU grill when I removed PSU from the case and I think this green object did as well, so I think something might have exploded: Problem solved, it was a faulty PSU. I will be requesting an RMA.
  9. The write speed is back to normal after getting the used space to below 50% and using the Windows Defrag and Optimise utility to Trim the drive. Trimming above 50% used capacity has no effect.
  10. Hi, this problem is not exclusive to the MP600, it occurs on my MP510 960GB too. Like you, I had the advertised speeds when I first got the drive and now the write speed won't go above 10xx MB/s. The Microsoft XVDD in the screenshot is a virtual drive created by Microsoft's XBox Gamepass for PC Beta app, could this be the reason for the problem? Edit: I uninstalled it and it made no difference unfortunately. My system: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X using Ryzen High Performance Power Plan Gigabyte X570 Master Bios F10 SVM (virtualisation enabled). AGESA 1.0.0.4B 32GB Crucial Ballistix 3600MHz RAM (4*8GB) Palit GTX 1080 Game rock Premium Corsair MP510 960GB using first M2 NVME slot (connected to CPU not chipset) Latest Firmware Version 12.3 Corsair RMi 1000W with Corsair link cable connected Windows 10 64bit Pro 1909 build 18363.836 Noctua NH-D15S cooler with extra fan Phanteks P600S case See attached screenshot.
  11. I plugged the cable into another internal USB header, Windows detected it on boot and installed the relevant drivers and so far it doesn't seem to be dropping the input voltage anymore but I'll have to do more testing to be sure as the problem is intermittent and I can't see how changing USB port would fix it. Edit: it just happened again so this did nothing to fix it.
  12. Hi, my RM1000i's input voltage is being reported as randomly dropping to 115V from 230V (I am in the UK, 115V is the voltage used in the US). It never used to do this, the PC still works fine and all other voltages are fine so what's going on and why is it happening? I've tried using a different surge protector with the same result. I've tested my sockets with a little socket tester and it says they're okay (although it doesn't measure the voltage). I have confirmed this behaviour in HWInfo and Aida64 as well as an old version of HWInfo. Could this still be a software issue related to a Windows update for instance, an electrical problem in the house or is it hardware? I have tried plugging the link cable into a different internal USB port and will report back. My system is: AMD Ryzen R9 3900X Gigabyte X570 Master 32GB Crucial Ballistix 3600MHz RAM Corsair MP510 960GB SSD Phanteks P600S Corsair RM1000i 1000W PSU Palit GTX 1080 Game rock Premium Noctua NH-D15S cooler
  13. I believe after you have written a certain amount of data to the drive then the write speed will drop to around 1000MB/s. This is due to the design of the drive and size of the cache, it is a compromise we have to make at this price. Try deleting some files and tell me if this restores the write speed performance.
  14. I'm glad it worked for you as others tried it and it said 'update failed' for them. I've been using the old firmware and it hasn't given me any problems and I'm not sure a Windows update would be likely to do so.
  15. From my testing the issue with the latest firmware only occurs on my X99 system under Windows 10 while under Ubuntu Linux it's fine. My old X58 system is fine under both Windows 10 and Linux using the latest firmware. The old firmware which I have linked in this thread fixes the issue under Windows 10 on my X99 system. I have CSM disabled in the UEFI on my X99 system which means I am running in a pure UEFI mode, Secure Boot is also enabled. Obviously the X58 system doesn't have a UEFI or secure boot so is running in legacy BIOS mode.
