I finally got a support response from Corsair about release notes: From Lloyd at Corsair: So it sounds like release notes are a thing of the past.

I have the HS70 Pro Wireless, and they are comfortable and sound fine. Sidetone has to be set up in the iCue software, and it's buggy, it usually doesn't turn off when you turn the mic off via the button on the side. If you set-up your sidetone preferences/volumes in iCue, then close iCue, it works fine - but you lose the auto-shutdown feature (which doesn't work for me, it keeps trying to shutdown while I'm listening to music or playing games. So in short: I like mine a lot, the iCue software is buggy and horrible. (but needed to turn on sidetone)

I guess in a time of lower income they sacrificed the front facing staff. I don't think I'll choose corsair again, I'll pick something less buggy with better support.

When you say "it remains on" do you mean that you can hear yourself when you talk into the mic? That's the "Sidetone" (aka monitor or feedback), and it's a common and known bug that the sidetone stays on when the mic is "off", it's been in multiple headsets for years, afaik Corsair don't acknowledge it. Sidetone will turn on/off properly if you set it up in iCue, then close iCue so it's not running. Since you are using Win 10, have you checked that input is detected in the "test your microphone" area of the win 10 sound settings? If it works there, you might need to check the permissions for applications using your microphone. Open Settings (win+i), then type "microphone privacy" into the search area. click on "microphone privacy settings" scroll through that list, make sure "allow apps to access your microphone" is on, and that the apps you want to use are on there as well.

Thanks for pointing out the monitor/sidetone option works properly when the iCue software is closed! That solves my main issue with these headphones. It would be nice to get a firmware update so they could take a single tap on the power button (a currently unused button press) to give a battery percentage.

:werd: yeah, I figure with the larger version number increase they have changed a fair bit, I want info to check if it's supposed to fix the 2 main issues I have.

Same with my new HS70 Pro Wireless. It's crazy that this seems to be a 4 year old issue. At least turning off the shutdown works for me, but then I can't just walk away from my PC trusting them to turn off.

I randomly get the shutdown initiated too.

HS70 Pro Wireless no battery info, firmware, sidetone issue

I am having the same monitor/sidetone failing to turn off when I turn off the microphone. I think that's a great suggestion as well, a single button tap on power currently does nothing, a battery voice would be very useful. I have the same firmware, and it seems to be the latest (according to this thread from Dec 2019 https://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=192143) I also have the same software version of 3.28.70 My battery shows under the "dashboard" area, I had to add the battery status as it was not initially displaying. So we share the same software and firmware versions, but I'm only getting some of the same issues. -Rince
