K70/CUE crashes with Tera

CUE/K70 crashes whenever I start the game TERA. I've tried doing it the other way around (start TERA first, then CUE), but to no avail -- the game crashes as well.

Here is the link to the game for reference:

http://tera.enmasse.com/

As for other games, I'm able to play Dota 2 (and other steam games) and Shadow of Mordor just fine.

Please help me shed some light on this, or if there are any fixes available currently.

I don't experience crashing, but I do experience an issue specifically with Tera.

When Tera is launched, the lighting on my keyboard ALWAYS freezes. CUE remains running and still says the keyboard "Works normally" despite the lights being frozen (including numlock/capslock lights).

It also causes the game to be stuck for 30s-60s at the startup animation, and if I alt-tab out and back into the game it locks up for the same amount of time.

My solution as just been to kill CUE and live with static colours, so then at least the game isn't hindered. Kinda ruins the fun of the keyboard though because I don't get animations while playing. Not that I look at the keyboard while playing.

USB drivers: latest from msi (I think just intel controller)

If it helps any corsair devs, here is KB log of connection followed by crash

  • 3 months later...

There are multiple games like this where the keyboard just isn't compatible with it. What you could do is try to plug the keyboard into a USB hub and try again, and if that doesn't work, then you'll have to kill CUE for the time you're playing Tera (that includes not starting it back up during the game). Like I said, there are multiple games like this (i.e. it does the same thing on The Binding of Isaac for me), we all just have to wait for Corsair to fix all these compatibility issues. Right now the #1 issue on Corsair's plate is the 16.8 million color issue, so I wouldn't expect a fix to this for the next few months (unless it so happens to come out with the 16.8m colors). Sorry.

EDIT: Especially to OP and joncppl, z87 and x99 motherboards are experiencing a lot of issues with CUE and the keyboard at the moment. Like I said, try a USB hub and see if that works, but there's no guarantees from me. Good luck!
