I have to ask if the peeps posting here would you all still recommend icue and corsair for a new build that will use wallpaper engine to control the RGB of your system.

I really want to love the icue software and the potential it has as a one stop RGB control solution but I am not sure it is living up to expectations?

Not a chance, this has been a nightmare for over a year now. I wish I just ripped and replaced this garbage.

I literally bought a new MB because I thought it was a hub on my board that was causing problems. I didn't want to wait 30 days without a PC. I used USBLogView but didn't find the vendor id of the faulty hub and now I really think it was the Commander Pro.

I used to have a Prime x570-P and now I have a Prime x570-Pro. Same problems as you guys.

Today I sent a ticket support to Corsair with the entire logs of the error and ordered an NZXT Hub. Thanks for the advice.

I tried using USBlogview a few days ago, and I can definitely start it before iCue starts on login, and yet a few secondds later, when iCue starts, I get the error, and see nothing logged in USBlogview. If I pull out something else, I see USBlogview working just fine.

I had contact with Corsair through e-mail and pointed out this thread for a second time. Also told them that 99% of the people fix it with the NZXT hub and that it might be an ASUS issue so hopefully they will go and sit around the table with ASUS

It's not an Asus issue, I do not have a single Asus product. I have had both an MSI and Asrock board do the exact same thing.

I had the Asrock Z390 Phantom Gaming-ITX/ac, and the MSI MPG Z390I GAMING EDGE AC. Both have the identical issue.

I've changed Mainboard, PSU, RAM, sound card (though now I use an external USB) GPU, mouse, and more, and this issuer persists.

100% would recommend avoiding Corsair products in their entirety. This is not the only long-standing issue my system has had. iCue is junk, even if the hardware is pretty decent.

I wonder, if the NZXT hub works so well, maybe it's just doing some kind of power filtering?

Has anyone tried adding a capacitor somewhere to help maintain the voltage and smooth spikes which might occur; particular when iCue starts up, and all the LEDs start running?

One thing I can add here...

I have posted my issue in this thread earlier. I didn't have immediate success with the NZXT hub solution, but have since got it to work most of the time. Occasionally my Node Pro lights will go to the hardware lighting setting and not sync with iCUE, but for the most part all of my disconnections have ceased. I know it did improve slightly after a recent iCUE update but not 100%. What DID seem to fix 100% was when I cahnged my PSU... Previously I had an EVGA but now have an RMx 850.

I did read somewhere that EVGA and another vendor (Thermaltake?) PSUs provide a slightly different power signal. I'm going to try and find where I had read it, but it could relate to this issue and perhaps why an NZXT Hub is slightly helpful but not 100%.

I'll update if I can find more info.

The keyboard disconnecting issue I've resolved twice by deleting the rainbow lighting effect from the icue profile and using an instant light profile.

This has worked on 2 separate occasions (for some reason the profile reset) and the difference is from disconnecting every 2(two)-30 minutes to not disconnecting at all until the profile went wonky again.

Do not know if it is relevant, however the advice from another here to remove Aura Sync has solved my issue. No more lighting or ST100 resets.

Seems to have worked for multiple people, not ideal but in times of need eh?

Quick recap and update,

I had usb disconnections on my MM800, ST100, Void Pro Wireless, and Commander pro every 20/30 mins during gaming even without the ST100.

After installing nzxt hub and replug my ST100 I had a disconnect after 3 days.. so issue wasn't fixed.

I tried now for 2 week the same setup but I unplugged the ST100... no more issues.

So, it seems there's issues with the commander pro power on new amd systems and general disconnections issues with the ST100.

...and, still no words from Corsair.

I have a Lighting Node Pro, on an Intel based system. I don't think I've seen anything suggesting this issue only impacts AMD systems, or even that it impacts them more.

Sorry, did not wanted to say it only impact amd systems but many people having these issues on this topic are on Amd systems (mainly x570 chips).

I'm having a similar problem, I don't know if mine is a connect/disconnect issue, but Windows recognises my H150i Pro RGB XT, iCue doesn't. I purchased the NZXT hub hoping it would fix my problem but it doesn't. The pump is working, and my commander pro and 2 lighting hubs connected to it work fine as well. The RGB on the CPU plate doesn't even light up generic colours? I have Gigabyte Aorus X570 Ultra..

Can now confirm I keep getting the disconnect sound as well.. I don't know why I couldn't hear it before

Created account to post. Exact same issue. All USB peripherals disconnect and reconnect intermittently. Doesn't seem to have any pattern. RGB fans will go to default rainbow, then snap back to my selected profile.

Build:

ASUS x570 Prime

Ryzen 7 3700x

2080 super

Corsair Vengeance 3600

Commander Pro Running 6 LL120

Lighting node running 8 LL120 (two on AIO).

iCUE running the AIO, Ram, Commander Pro, Asus mobo, and K95 keyboard.

Based on this thread, and other threads i've seen, its something with that specific MOBO and iCUE. Returning my board.

Surely it should be the responsibility of Corsair to support the boards chipset rather than force its users to swap their boards out? Although in my case everything else works except the H150i XT - I did reach out to support yesterday and got into contact with Drick through their phone lines, they made me install an elfato program and have it run, then send the zip file produced by said program back to them so they can have their AIO specialist take a look. I'm hoping for the best, maybe a software update can fix it.. If it doesn't, I'll be sending my H150i XT back for a refund and getting an NZXT cooler instead I think..

TL;DR for AMD users: It may help to always install the latest chipset drivers from AMD’s site versus from your motherboard vendor.

Full Post

Just wanted to say that I don’t have this issue but find it interesting so many do. I am NOT using the Commander Pro, but here’s my config.

I DO have the NZXT internal USB Powered Hub.

Lighting Node Core - Connected to NZXT Hub

Lighting Node Pro - Connected to NZXT Hub

H150i Pro RGB XT (just installed last night) - Connected directly to the Motherboard USB Header.

Other Corsair products: K70 mk2, Vengeance RGB Pro RAM, and HS70 Pro Wireless Headset.

Motherboard: ASUS ROG x570-E with a Ryzen 7 3700x - Motherboard is controllable in iCUE perfectly fine. I do have Armory Crate installed. (Yes it’s pretty useless but everything ASUS seems to be more happy with it installed and it stays out of my way since I rarely open it.) In my experience if you don’t have it installed, you cannot control the motherboard from iCUE.

I just recently decided to reinstall Windows simply because it’s been a while, not due to the this issue. I also noticed iCUE just had a new update, so I installed that. Further, AMD updates the Chipset Drivers often. I would suggest to download them from AMD’s website directly versus from your motherboard vendor.

Long story short, I’ve not experienced any USB disconnects as you guys are describing, although it seems like I should be the prime candidate for it.

I do hope Corsair fixes this, but I am wondering if this is really a fault of the Commander Pro?

My current setup:

Lian Li 011 Dynamic Razer Edition

Asus Crosshair X570 Hero Wifi

AMD 3900X

Asus 2080 Ti Strix

Corsair RGB Pro 3600 Mhz 32GB

All water cooled with Corsair Hydro X open loop components.

I have been having this issue for months now.

During games my Icue will chime, all RGB controlled through the software will revert to rainbow setting for a few seconds then revert back to my current profile.

While this is happening my games will stutter a bit, extremely annoying and so far no solution. Have contacted support on this and that was absolutely useless. They gave me suggestions that had nothing to do with my problem. Hoping to get some insight from the forums. Thank you

I'm experiencing the same issues, but with a lighting node core.

Daisy chained 2 commander pros, and one lighting node core in each commander pro. 5 fans working fine, other 6 when I hear the USB disconnect turn white. The node core in question also drops out of iCUE. Restarting the computer fixes the issue, but it is annoying as all get out.

Any ideas??
