dingdong555
Hey guys. Thought I'd post it up here :-) Below is my worklog in one super long post! http://i34.tinypic.com/2j0jcli.jpg http://i35.tinypic.com/28w2ujc.jpg http://i36.tinypic.com/15i9no5.jpg http://i36.tinypic.com/w7ekg1.jpg http://i38.tinypic.com/xqf50k.jpg http://i35.tinypic.com/1z5lw03.jpg Mr.Bitspower http://i35.tinypic.com/147438.jpg White background? http://i37.tinypic.com/fp0a5w.jpg http://i37.tinypic.com/ngc0g4.jpg http://i33.tinypic.com/117uv4n.jpg http://i35.tinypic.com/2zq4zt5.jpg Small update. I got 3 1150rpm Gentle Typhoons + 3 Thermalright 140mm fans for the case. BOTH fans are completely silent unless I have my ear next to them (kids, don't try at home). Both are amazing fans, the quality of the thermalright's are great! They come pre-sleeved in some OK sleeving and with a black housing. Thanks to John @ Jab-Tech for these, there was more in the order like fan pins etc... but you don't need to see them :) http://i36.tinypic.com/deqptg.jpg http://i34.tinypic.com/4zzrcw.jpg http://i35.tinypic.com/24b6agn.jpg http://i33.tinypic.com/2n8blo2.jpg Anyways! My MIPS package arrived! Let me say a BIG thanks to Michael who responded to every email in an instant and was a HUGE help! Thanks! The products are amazing, I also asked them to included black screws but I'm liking the silver ones ATM. Sorry about the "dust" and "grime," it's a PITA to get rid of. http://i34.tinypic.com/ziltvs.jpg http://i33.tinypic.com/veowsn.jpg http://i37.tinypic.com/2gw74b8.jpg http://i38.tinypic.com/2jcdf77.jpg Today started off nicely, got some steel from my brother and begun! The one thing that really "grinds my gears" about the case is the rubber grommets, sure, they're great so all forms of motherboards can fit but IMO they look crap, rubber everywhere! ;) That can be fixed though, another thing is when the window is inplace, you can see half of the lower chamber (PSU) which looks fugly, not sure why they did that? Anyways, overall, the case is amazing, really good quality and my favourite feature has to be the hot swappable bays, I don't really know why I love them but for some reason, they're sweet. Enough talk! This is where I started. http://i49.tinypic.com/noyct0.jpg And this is where I finished, I still need to cut the CPU are out, cut some holes for the cables to pass through and make the hole on the bottom left of the bottom plate bigger so the case rivet doesn't push the plate inwards. These ofcourse will be powdercoated! http://i46.tinypic.com/2my9a2o.jpg More soon ya'll. Needa finish cutting the steel then I can get it powdercoated/do mock up's. Sorry I haven't had an update in a while, been pretty busy! Anyway, today I finally got to do a mockup of my plans in my head, it turned out exactly how I wanted, if not, better. Next to the motherboard will be an Iandh reservoir as soon as the arrive in Australia (2 weeks) with green coolant, you should be catching my theme now. I've had a heap of fun fabricating all my own bits, it so enjoyable, they'll go off to the powdercoaters to come back all dressed up as soon as I cut the SATA holes (You can probably see my very dodgy line) I really feel like this is starting to take off now, I'm finally getting a replacement for my dead PSU which is great news for me! PICHASSSS http://i50.tinypic.com/sc6jo7.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/fozvys.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/16bc1he.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/10fbacz.jpg http://i46.tinypic.com/x1hg5f.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/2u8x8hy.jpg Bruce the roo' :) http://i45.tinypic.com/2cxdvk3.jpg Cheers guys. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hey guys! Hasn't been much of a visual update lately, but don't worry, I've been busy, all I can tell you for now is that I'll be receiving parts from BitsPOwer and Jab-Tech. Got my parts back from the powdercoaters today, it was amazingly quick considering they've got work till after Christmas, I didn't think they'd have it done so quick, and, it looks amazing. It's a textured black colour which matches the Obsidian very well I must say. Nough' talk. I'm back in black! http://i50.tinypic.com/2ykz6td.jpg What's this? :O http://i50.tinypic.com/9lahyf.jpg Looks great http://i49.tinypic.com/15wo4lz.jpg Got my Intel SSD too, downgraded from the G.Skill 128gb Falcon as I didn't need that much space, I put the extra cash away for an SSD for the lappy. http://i48.tinypic.com/29429o8.jpg A different PSU plate which I did for a customer, slightly longer than mine, I also didn't have to do a cutout for the rivet on the left hand side which was good. http://i47.tinypic.com/2a7gadw.jpg That's all!... for now ;) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Small update for you all. Meet the twins, twins, meet the audience... (I'll be using a black 90*) http://i49.tinypic.com/2evvxp0.jpg Not all is glamour, as you can see, the 90* hits the backing, so, I need one of THESE but it's around $20AUD shipped for the fitting + it'll take around 2 weeks. I should be able to work around it though, even if I have to use 2 45*'s together. We'll see what happens. My reservoir should be here in ~2 weeks so that means I'll be at completion! http://i48.tinypic.com/33kxd01.jpg ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Postman came today! Usually he comes in the morning but he came in the afternoon today, I was VERY eager to receive this package. EK Supreme HF!! Let me say, EK are top quality, they've recently moved to a new box design and it really helps sell the product, packaging is even better too! Here we go. http://i49.tinypic.com/152kdu8.jpg Nice box inside the cover http://i48.tinypic.com/r94e28.jpg What's inside? http://i47.tinypic.com/2s8iqsm.jpg EK have everything needed now for a liquid loop, apart from their own fans/tubing, I'm expecting to see some kits soon. http://i49.tinypic.com/t9ebv9.jpg Well packaged! http://i50.tinypic.com/minkuq.jpg Oh my! http://i45.tinypic.com/2a7d6ba.jpg Quality. http://i47.tinypic.com/24msytx.jpg Interesting....EK's rebranded MX-2 :) Nice thermal paste to come with a block! http://i47.tinypic.com/2yzemmu.jpg Here she is! *drools* http://i47.tinypic.com/jfgql2.jpg With her 2 big "bits" :) http://i48.tinypic.com/awyohw.jpg The jet plates. No, I won't be designing my own :) http://i50.tinypic.com/21blwgj.jpg Her with the dress off http://i49.tinypic.com/2eo8e2d.jpg And FULLY naked :O http://i46.tinypic.com/243lrip.jpg The quality is truly amazing, more updates to come :) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://i49.tinypic.com/ao5ddt.jpg Anyway, my EK package arrived which I was expecting during my holiday! It only took 4 business days to get here which is SUPER quick! The problem that I had was that the stock OR EK backplate hit the MIPS block, this is an issue ONLY with my board blocks AFAIK and a backplate will not hit the blocks on a classified. I couldn't change my layout as it would have been too hard, *Out comes the dremel...ZEEEEEEEEEEEE ZEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE* It now fits like a glove and looks pretty cool too. (sorry bout the dust guys!) http://i47.tinypic.com/j5f3es.jpg One thing I was amazed at is EK actually thought about us users with 1/2"ID 3/4" OD compressions this time, you do NOT need to use a 45* or 90* for once! w00t. http://i48.tinypic.com/xq06r.jpg The nickel goodness. http://i46.tinypic.com/33cusso.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/2lvfj2o.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/kdwoc7.jpg Thanks! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey guys! THE INCREDIBLE HULK IS ALIVE! Yes...you heard me! Finally shots won't be until Fri/Sat as I'm EXTREMELY busy until then. Sorry about that! Anyway, here are my shots of my new reservoir made by Iandh himself, these are a masterpiece and will be available from sidewinder.com soon, so sit tight. The reservoir is very unique, especially the clamps, they really do look "stealth." I'll keep this short and show you some pictures - http://i49.tinypic.com/30sd0sx.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/2gtx5ie.jpg http://i46.tinypic.com/2uqyiqw.jpg http://i45.tinypic.com/vxoyso.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/11gt35d.jpg So, until the weekend, you'll have to wait!... Argh I feel bad! lol. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, as I promised, I have taken the final pictures. This has been a VERY long journey, it started over 6months ago when I tor down Hulk V1 mainly because the PSU blew up but I wasn't 100% happy with it either. I then waited and waited for the Corsair case to hit AUS, it was then more waiting for specific parts and so on, I was pulling my hair out to get my computer back and get off the laptop. All your comments thus far are GREATLY appreciated and this is an AWESOME community, whenever I post an update, it puts a smile to my face coming here the next day seeing all the wonderful comments, it truly does. You all have a HUGE influence on HULK, and all your constructive criticism really helps! Anyway, enough yabba, it's time to show you Bruce, AKA. THE HULK! I hope you've enjoyed this ride as much as I have, cause I know I've had a ball, hopefully the future will bring some customers for more builds I can share. (Sorry for all the pictures, I can't decide which to keep! I also apologize for my crappy window shots, it's hard to get no reflections.) http://i46.tinypic.com/hu2blv.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/qrkzkw.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/15h2336.jpg http://i46.tinypic.com/2wpmh7b.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/o6xs0m.jpg http://i45.tinypic.com/6z52qg.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/2ds1jkl.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/rjmxvr.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/2hxli4m.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/mv4wae.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/ibjtxg.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/2a9e5pe.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/2zybndy.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/33dgn60.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/jtrvwh.jpg http://i45.tinypic.com/2j0d25e.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/91ifde.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/10ic5lv.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/2dhy2hs.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/2n1rgd2.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/23ti1zm.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/2nqyyi0.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/2rzyy42.jpg http://i46.tinypic.com/1z3wjdh.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/a3io13.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/2rc72f5.jpg There you have it :) Once again, I'd just like to thank my sponsors. http://i36.tinypic.com/deqptg.jpg http://i33.tinypic.com/10riyab.jpg http://i38.tinypic.com/k15njl.jpg http://i34.tinypic.com/ziltvs.jpg http://i30.tinypic.com/2jb8c45.jpg

MJinZ
A 5870 is weak? It's MORE than enough for my needs. If you're not gaming, then it's more than enough. But for gamers, it's pretty weak considering all things, for a single card, 5970 would have been more befitting of all the work you put into the machine. ::pirate::

All games on my 24" 1920x1200 can be played at MAX with no lag, except Crysis but who cares about that. No point in spending $1000AUD on a 5970 when it'll be about $600 in the future sometime. Now you just need 2 more of those 24" and play on 5760 x 1200, and see how well one 5870 manages. ;):

Dan H
Looks amazing. I was thinking about trying to liquid cool my new system. How much did everything cost you and where are some good places to get your gear? I checked newegg and there isn't a lot of choice.
Yellowbeard
IIRC, dingdong555 is in Australia. If so, retailers and pricing may not apply if you are not also there. There are plenty of websites for retailers that sell custom WC gear. Just do a bit of Googling.

You are correct :-) Most of my gear was purchased in Australia, apart from liquid cooling, all that was purchased from multiple retailers but mainly from jab-tech.com

mlee49
Hey man, what radiators were used? Also, since your pic heavy(which I like ;) ) if your bottom cover is removable could you snap a pic of the lower portion? Spanks mate.

I'm not looking forward to the drain but I will take the tube off the radiator in the lower section since it's at the LOWEST point and theoretically, gravity should do all the work. Truly amazing work. Smells quality all the way here. I am getting my new rig tomorrow. This will be huge inspiration for my first water cooling system. Keep it up! Thankyou!!! Hey man, what radiators were used? Also, since your pic heavy(which I like ;) ) if your bottom cover is removable could you snap a pic of the lower portion? Spanks mate.
