Why wouldn't I re-use my old HX520W...?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone could give me some feedback here..

I'm planning a new build, and have a 7-8 years old Corsair HX520W PSU lying around. It hasn't seen that many hours, and runs like a champ.

I ran my new build's specs through a power calc on outervision.com, and I should be well within budget on the 520.

Now I hate discarding things that work fine, can anyone see a reason why I wouldn't use my old PSU on a new build?

Any and all comments appreciated.

i still have a PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610 that i originally purchased in mid 2006 for a Pentium 4 630 + nvidia 6800 Ultra build.

it's still working to this day in a computer that controls some heavy machinery in a sewing factory, since 2009 i think.

if it still works, then it works. you can use it.

That PSU will work fine, but a more recent 80 plus gold model will pay for itself quickly in power savings.

I have an i3-2100 box and a CS450M PSU running it which makes it low cost to operate
