1ceTr0n
Got my 600T white today at last! I was worried as hell when I saw the box though, UPS wasn't to kinda during its shipping, with several punctures all around. Heads were gonna farking roll if I saw any damage to this case after the money I spent on it. Last time I spent this much on a case was back in 2002 on a ******** PC-68 for $200 from Newegg. Luckily, Corsairs thick box and styrofoam saved case from any dings and scratches, kudos to Corsair for making sure this thing is well protected from the ogres that are UPS workers. Once I had it out, it was a sight to behold for sure. I never had a case like this, especially in white outa the box if you count some of ########s light "tan" cases back in the day as "white" After the recent horror stories, I checked everywhere with an eagle eye to make sure there were no scratches or buffs anywhere. During which, I found this strange paint job in the front of the case. I dunno if its an afterthought from the factory or they couldn't do a better job. Either way, was dissapointed to see the paint job done kinda poor http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/Phantron/Corsair/corsair2.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/Phantron/Corsair/corsair1.jpg Upon further investigation through the case I found quite a few black flakes of paint in various area's, from the grills to near the doors. I presumed it was some leftovers from the factory and as a result of the door rubbing against the case as its removed and put back on. With that, i'm concerned of how long the white paint will last, especially on the inner panels where its going to rub up against wiring in the back of the mobo panel. It doesn't seem to be as well done as my ######## P-180 interior paint job, black or white. It may also be because i'm used to the thick, soundproofing panels and walls of my ######## min p180 and also that i haven't had a large steel case in awhile, but I found the whole case some what "creaky" and floppy as I moved it around and took off the doors. I'm gonna assume its just because of the above mentioned reasons it seems "flimsy" to me, but its interesting how spoiled I have been with the fit and finish of my ######## mini p180 that fits real nice and tight together all around, like a tank. For $180 case, im also dissapointed at the quality control for the gaps and fittings. The lower part of the case with the plastic housings don't mesh with the panels other then one corner near the window. http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/Phantron/Corsair/corsair12.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/Phantron/Corsair/corsair11.jpg The backside also isn't any better http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/Phantron/Corsair/corsair8.jpg The gaping between the door and the case itself is also poor IMO. Some area's have too much clearance and leave large gaps. Some are tight and requires me to "force" the panel into place, therebye causing much more risk to having paint coming off http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/Phantron/Corsair/corsair6.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/Phantron/Corsair/corsair7.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/Phantron/Corsair/corsair9.jpg Im also wondering what this dust or coating of stuff is on my top grill in the 4 middle section spots, that I cant seem to get rid off, it ruins the look of the black paint job. Another factory oversight or just poor quality control? http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/Phantron/Corsair/corsair10.jpg Was also bummed out to see that the steel white paintjob doesn't exactly match the plastic either in the right lighting. Once again, factory oversight or just plain lack of care? http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/Phantron/Corsair/corsair4.jpg Even the buttons look like either leftover paint or plastic flange has been left on them. Cmon, for $180, we can do better then this Corsair http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/Phantron/Corsair/corsair5.jpg It is a nice looking case from a distance, thats for sure http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/Phantron/Corsair/corsair3.jpg So after all this, I honestly dunno what to think of my first Corsair case. For $180, I pretty much demand some better quality control for that kinda money which im not seeing in a couple of places. Again, I could either be either overlly picky/anal and or spoiled from my years of ######## cases who has had much more time to perfect building quality cases over the years. I've also been spoiled after having a large ########-P180 and mini P-180 with soundproofing, tank like build construction, thick steel, so the Corsair in comparison just feels "meh".... Will I keep this sexy looking 600T white edition? I hightly doubt it, $180 could get me a nice new mobo for my A n t e c mini P180 instead of case that has a long way to go before it has a dream of a chance to meet let alone surpass A n t e c's legacy I really wanna like this case and if it was in the $100 range, I might look the other way on its flaws, but for near $200, I just can't. RMAing to Newegg for refund on Monday, blows im gonna eat 15% restocking fee. However, this is gonna make me make damn sure I really want a case next time and do better research instead of jumping on hype bandwagons This thread will likely be removed which won't surprise me, but i'm giving Corsair the truth in regards to their quality control of their cases and the truth usually hurts. Maybe it will stir something and Corsair can make changes for the better in their products, but I won't hold my breath.
Synthohol
i dont think it would be removed, you were not being derogatory or made any inflammatory comments. you gave an honest review of the unit that was delivered to you. i can only imagine the case being bumped around a bit during shipping causing the alignment flaws but about the paint job? well you cant blame that on UPS. im sorry to see you disappointed, my 800D seems to be flawless and i also inspected it with a careful eye. im sure Corsair would offer to exchange the case if you gave them a chance. 1ceTr0n
Mostly cause im calling out Corsairs lack of quality of their product on their website, but for future owners who pay this kinda money and get results like this, I think it needs to be called out and addressed. I'm not demanding absolute perfection, that will never happen unless im having one custom built from scratch. But I know Corsair can do a better job then this, especially if they wish to take lead in the case making industry amongst major brands. It seems I can't even mention their names on this board. I"ve spent alot of time and money on the big "A" products over the years and in comparison at this point in time after trying Corsairs entry into the case market, im not pleased, especially for the money. Can/will Corsair make this right both now and for future owners by increasing quality control? Or are they just gonna consider me a picky, non essential customer, shrug and say *Everyone else likes our cases, sorry you don't* and walk way? Dunno, im game for giving them a chance, they at least deserve that before I ask that newegg refund my money and waive the restocking fee as I will plainly state the product is essentially "defective"
Wired
Can/will Corsair make this right both now and for future owners by increasing quality control? The thing is, you're assuming their QC control is either crap, resulting in you getting a case which is below your standard, and/or that your case meets their QC standards and/or other case manufacturers never produce cases with issues. Personally I'd go with option F: Someone somewhere is human and made an error in some way. RMAing through Newegg or Corsair, or just returning it are all acceptable options of course. Personally I'd RMA it to allow Newegg / Corsair to make it right, but that's just me.

Oh, you mean your left side panel DOESNT bulge out due to the PSU wires being run behind the mobo tray? That panel is way too thin IMO. A thicker gauge steel for the side panel, some reinforcement, and/or a few extra cm of depth would have fixed this.
1ceTr0n
I have not heard from CorsairGeorge or anyone from here if I can get a replacement of any kind for my new 600T white case last week that had these defects that I pointed out in this thread http://www.overclock.net/computer-cases/1096581-your-cases-need-alot-work-corsair.html Who and where do I need to call in order to get some incite in what my options are? Or is this acceptable quality to Corsair and i'm just RMAing this case back to newegg and plead not to have a restocking fee as I certainly consider this case "defective" and don't see why I should get the shaft in the end, one way or another. I'd appreciate some type of answer, good bad or indifferent.
newfmp3
I can't say I am all that impressed with my 650d's quality control either. I got paint chips and peeling on the top panel edges (this is not damage from shipping but from the top panel rubbing against the front panel), the tab things that you fold over the front fan filter are already cracked. I have had this one week now. I can't believe they are relying on bending metal to hold a filter in..you bend any metal like this back and forth a few times and it cracks. The fans are horrendously loud even with the little fan fix they sent me..(but they did send it pretty quickly and FREE so props on good service there) .. All in all, I hate to say it, but I bought the wrong case. Apparantly I also bought the wrong SSD at the same time too...force 3 Sending it back is not an option for me. The entire thing comes out for cleaning. Why would you need to repeatedly bend them?
newfmp3
the only reason why I have taken the filter out is trying to figure out where the darn noise is coming from. I have found that moving the front fan back a bit works. I tried taking filter out, and that works a little more again but I need filters in there so I refused to leave it out. Sure you can wash the entire thing, but it just seems like front fan filter was something slapped together. Its not even cut evenly.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted August 24, 2011 Corsair Employee Share Posted August 24, 2011 You can either use the link on the left and request and RMA and explain what parts you think need to be replaced or as suggest speak with new-egg and see if they can replace it for you. And for the record why would we remove your post, you paid hard earned money to get our product and I do not blame you at all. You followed the rules and have done nothing wrong in the way you posted. In addition, your first post was Saturday Afternoon when we were closed: Our Hours are 8:30AM to 5:30 PM Pacific Time Monday Through Friday and like most others Mondays are a bear sometimes and we get a little behind catching up from the weekend. So it is not that we were ignoring you just working through the issue like what you have found. It is not a Quality issue trust me I know it is a handling issue and it appears that your case was miss handled in shipping that is the only reasonable explanation I can see for the damage that you have shown in this post. So please see what you can do with the reseller if they will not or cannot help you then please submit for the RMA and work this out with our customer service they will take care of you and I am sorry that you had trouble that is not the normal case most do not have problems but such is life crap happens sometimes. mask01
You guys aren't the only1 with poor build quality, my Obsidian 650D comed with bend disk cages and werent holding disks firmly, and the disks vibrated http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/731/dsc08032o.th.jpg http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/6791/dsc08033x.th.jpg http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/4311/dsc08034n.th.jpg The Obsidian 650D is already sent back to the store here in Croatia
hungh
Haha, I have that little bent thing problem like you do too. At the bottom where the black case feet are, the white plastic protrudes out. I thought that happened because I tilted my case and the result was the case bent. My other guess was that it occured because of shipping. Now I know I didn't cause it and I'm not the only one. I also don't think Corsair will replace anyone's 600t because of defects like this one. These things cost too much to ship and are quite expensive to be handing out exchanges whenever there is a problem.

Corsair stands behind their products and issues are handled (forgive the pun) on a case by case basis and you just have to give them a chance. i have seen whole cases and panels replaced here so ya never know until you ask :)
Eizen
I'm thinking of getting the 600T SE and I would hate to deal with a defective case. Returning it would be such a hastle... On a side note UPS blows. They deliver stuff to the wrong street and leave things in the rain without ringing the door bell. Having it shipped via fedex adds $100 to the price which is out of the question. ~_~
Yaboze
My 600T is fine, but I do notice the side panels aren't as flush with the case as they could be on the bottom part.
stevetaylor199
All I'd really like are some good, specific recommendations from the community on what touch-up paint is recommended for the steel parts of the 650D.
1ceTr0n
At long last, after two weeks of waiting till Corsair got stock back in, Corsair George sent me personally inspected before shipping, brand new 600T white! Its in much better shape all around vs my first model, which I was very happy about. After spending a couple hours ripping the guts out of "Black Ice" into the new case, here's my "old" setup in its new home until my new system is built. I"ve already got some ideas of what I wanna do to the case and lighting for my next build and case project, so stay tuned! :thumb: Man, I forgot how nice it is to have all that space that a mid to large tower gives you vs a small/mini case and damn, the wiring couldn't have been any easier with this case! My mATX looks so small now in this huge case vs my mini P180! Thanks Corsair for all the help and going the extra mile to make a new customer like me pleased with my first case product from you guys! http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/Phantron/Arcticon/IMG_1554.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/Phantron/Arcticon/IMG_1555.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/Phantron/Arcticon/IMG_1558.jpg
SnakeDoctor
Nice to hear they helped you out and it's nice to know that Corsair is standing behind their products. I have a problem with my 600T SE that's not quite as troubling as your many defects on your original case but it still makes me scratch my head. The window panel has fitment issues and I have to really work the right side in before it will snap closed. It doesn't close as easily or properly like the rear panel so I'm sure it's either the panel itself or the actual fitment within the case. Not sure what I can do here but I'll be heading up to GeForce LAN and maybe talk to Corsair if they're at the LAN. They're a Gold sponsor so hopefully someone will be there at least a day.. The case is great and it's not a huge issue as I'm not constantly opening and closing the case but I fear wear and tear may set in a lot sooner than later if this continues. RDS85
I was thinking of getting a Obisdian 650D but after all the complaints now I'm thinking twice. Maybe I'll go back to the Antec.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted September 30, 2011 Corsair Employee Share Posted September 30, 2011 RDS85, Please keep in mind this is a help forum and we are selling a large volume of these cases so the user you see here may have had some question or issue but most if not all have been worked out. And the number of issues you see is very small compared to what we sell. Amd most of the issues like the O.P in that case was more to do with improper handling during shipping. Nahaz
No matter what case you decide upon there will always be something people will never be quite happy with. I've seen some of the neatest system builds built into Corsair cases because of their grommet system used throughout their entire range. It's the main reason I bought a second case for my wife.
