Default Windows Updates of May 8 2012 unsigned the drivers for Corsair Vengeance 1500?

Is it possible that the Windows Updates of Windows 7 on May 8 unsigned the drivers? After installing the Windows Update today (may 8th) and rebooting, the drivers became unsigned, so the headset no longer works

If I boot Windows 7 and select the boot mode without checking for signed drivers, the headset and it's drivers works, but it's annoying to boot like this each time

Did you try to uninstall/reinstall the driver to see if the problem is still there?

I tried unplugging/replugging the headset, I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, no luck, it keeps saying that the driver has a problem become Windows cannot validate that it is signed

Go into processes and kill everything 1500 related, reinstall the software.

I tried doing this, but no luck, same result. It still says that the driver is unsigned

Booting into Windows with the option to disable signed drivers verification works, the headset works perfectly

Uninstall all updates from this date in ->programs and features->view installed updates, verify that the problem is gone after unistallation of updates, reinstall the updates one by one till you identify which update that creates this and then do a search on the KB-number.

Then evaluate if the update is important or not for you.

Are these drivers ever going to be updated? Saying that we need to remove critical windows updates to get the headset to work is unacceptable. I now have a HS1 USB paperweight, despite any effort to fix it, including overriding the digital signature.

Update for anyone having this problem with an HS1 USB... This *should work* with the 1500 since I think it's the same hardware...

Roll back to the original HS1 1.0 drivers... works perfectly fine.

Just FYI, this has been reported to our engineering dept. They are checking into it.

I also had this problem for a couple of months on my HS1 with 1.1 drivers. The funny thing is nothing changed in my comp, no windows updates or anything, and it just happened one day over night. Could never figure out how to fix it, so just disabled windows drivers signature during bootup each time.

This may be one of those "undocumented features" from Microsoft. ENG did some checking and found that our driver signing should be correct and noted a HOTFIX FROM MICROSOFT.

If anyone tries this fix, let us know how it goes.

you could always go into policy editor and allow unsigned drivers.

That's what some have reported but, the work around may not be the best idea for those that want that policy intact. Hopefully the hotfix will work for those that are showing this error.

I just received the vengence 1500 today from my HS1 rma. The issue still happens for me as expected since it's the same drivers I was using on my HS1. Fresh install as I uninstalled the drivers when my HS1 broke. I tried the windows hotfix, but it did not work for me. I never figured out how to fix it, so will just continue to disable windows signatures each time upon bootup.
