Ryzen 7 2700X Accurate Temperature?

Is there any ETA on when iCue will accurately show the CPU temperature for the 2700X? The "Package" temperature in iCue is 40C above the Tctl temp and 50C above the actual Tdie temp. That is unacceptably inaccurate for a piece of software that manages system temperatures and fan speeds and it prevents users from using the CPU temperature to manage their fan curves.

Sorry, you feel that way but there were bigger issues to address and this wasn't a top priority.

I think accurate temps for a monitoring software that ostensibly controls fans based on these temperatures is a pretty important feature.

It'd probably take 10 minutes to fix.

Agreed. It can’t be a hard fix to get the Tctl or the Tdie values.

Odd. The iCue software is described by Corsair as follows:

Intelligent control, Unlimited Possibilities. CORSAIR iCUE software connects all your compatible products together in a single interface, giving you complete control of everything from RGB lighting and effects to fan speeds and temperature monitoring

My takeaway from reading that summary is that the iCue does 4 things.

1 - Provides a centralized management interface for all attached Corsair items

2 - RGB Lighting

3 - Fan Speeds

4 - Temperature monitoring

You state the priorities were neither 3 nor 4

1 & 2 don't matter if the lack of 3, caused by the lack of accurate 4 causes your system to die...or causes people to buy non-corsair gear in order to get monitoring software that actually, well...monitors.

Having extremely high CPU usage is more detrimental to the system then not knowing the temp.

Exactly. It's not like is 10 or even 20 degrees off. It's 50. That's a big bug.

This bug only affects people with Ryzen chips while a CPU bug affects everyone making it a bigger bug. They are testing a fix right now and it should be released next patch.
