firebat559
Are both able to individually address each LED to display a rainbow pattern? Meaning am I able to display multiple colors at once one for each LED?
LeDoyen
yes. Corsair obviously is, and EK moved everything to ARGB like last year.
Corsair Employee Corsair HP Posted October 16, 2020 Corsair Employee Share Posted October 16, 2020 All 16 LED's in the XC7 CPU blocks can be controlled individually to whatever color, or effect you desire. The advantage of iCUE is that the program knows exactly how the LED positioning of each water block, fan or ram stick is, so you can do some effects that you will be hard pressed to find other places. A good example is the infinity loop effect you can see on the fans in the end of this video: [ame] [/ame]
jon_snodgrass
How can we achieve this functionality in non-XG7 waterblocks given that Corsair is not manufacturing waterblocks for all cards?
LeDoyen
You can still buy or make an adapter to plug it to a corsair controller, but it will be a bit limited. For a start, other manufacturers don't really have their main focus on lighting, so, controlling a 6 or 7 LED strip that sits on the end of the block won't look as flashy as a complete LED surrounding on the XG7. But under the hood it's still the same digital RGB, so you can do things like this : https://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=181283&highlight=ek+block Depending on the number of LEDs of the particular block you get, you will have to set it in icue as a fan, a strip.. or anything that has the same number of LEDs, or as close as possible. Won't be perfect but it will allow you to use just iCUE to control the color theme of your build.
jon_snodgrass
Thank you. Do you know if, as I posted elsewhere, it's possible to replicate the daisy-chain terminals and effect of the XG7 block? I like that hub-like feature it has. Really wish Corsair would make a block for the EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra
