ITB1981
Unfortunately getting excatly the same issue here too. Am on latest iCUE version (also happened on previous version - so update did not resolve this) and latest drivers etc. Happens more often than not - I would say 8 out of every 10 shut down's. When PC is up and running (gaming, browsing, email, MS offfice use etc) there does not seem to be any obvious issues - no black screens or similar yet, though I do get the random red triangle on not detecting Ram in iCUE (but I believe that is another issue - and an iCUE close down and restart seems to resolve that problem) but none the less, somewhat concerning to get a regular error message. Any further comment on how to reslove this, other than rolling back to another version of iCUE?

With this error happening for many user i think Corsair should take a good look on why the program crashes (in my case on reboot or shutdown) since its been around for 2 versions now. Later when they update the software to be compatible with Anti-cheat software we no longer have the option to downgrade if we want to keep playing. frizur
I had this problem but only with RDR2. RDR2 crashed and the corsair display service. Turns out it was caused by the iGPU being enabled. Disabling the iGPU removed the problem and now i can play RDR2 again without a crashing game or corsair.service.display... i7-3770 + vega 64 (- intel HD4000 now). It's the only trick that got this specific game working again. All other games had no problem with this.
Widde
Come on Corsair, how does this error still exist after now 4 versions? 3.25.60 is the latest error free version for me and the one i'm still running but i want the latest software on my computer due to security reasons and features so please fix this ASAP. frizur
and it seems the hardware monitor function hampers more games then just RDR2. it seems to be interfering with a lot more stuff then i thought. Maybe should rip out all the non corsair monitoring stuff. The more functions you give the more bugs it gets. All this, years of problems , just to show of some RGB...utterly stupid really. Especially when the problems never seem to get solved. It seems there is a kid trying some stuff without actually knowing what he is doing. Trial and error is the way corsair works ? PilotGW
I discovered this too whilst tying to hunt down some stability/crashing problems. I don't think this is related to the problem I'm having at all, but I don't think it should be happening, regardless. Latest version 3.28.75. Lucian Andries
Hey guys. I also have this issue, for both in Windows and on system Shut Down/Restart. iCUE v3.29.110 Windows 10 64bit v2004 GPU GTX 1080 Ti Nvidia driver v446.14 It's been 3 months since this issue first appeared, from what I can tell. I can't believe it's so elusive... :( Also: Can't we just get rid of this file? It's just for the system monitor, temp, fan speed, etc. We don't use iCUE for this stuff anyway, we use AIDA64 and HWMonitor, etc... Theoretically it should solve the problem. Just asking... ikbenben
Hello people, same story here. When shutting down the same error appears in the Windows Reliability Monitor. I've contacted Corsair about it and this is what they offered me as solution : 1. Open your computer's Control Panel. 2. Open the Programs and Features options. 3. Select Corsair Utility Engine in the list, and then select Uninstall. 4. Press Window Key + R to open the Run command. 5. Type %appdata% and press Enter. 6. Delete any Corsair folders in the window that pops up. 7. Return to the Run window and type %localappdata%. 8. Delete any Corsair folders in the window that pops up. 9. Open File Explorer and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\. 10. Delete any Corsair folders in that folder. 11. Type Regedit in the Run window and then click OK. 12. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ and delete the Corsair folder. 13. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ and delete the Corsair folder. 14. Restart your computer. 15. Download a new installer file for iCUE from Corsair.com and reinstall. I've already done all these steps but with the same result, the error still appears. Now I'm testing to see what happens if I put the .exe file in a new folder. As of now no error yet, only thing I'm missing is the GPU sensors in the iCUE dashboard. D1m3b4g
Joining the club here too, my issue is mostly stemming around launching GTA5. Aleczk
Interestling this error shows to me when my PC is shutting down. It's so quick I couldn't even read it so I had to record it and pause the frame to see what a hell was that error that showed up for 0.1sec before the PC turn off. It's been happening for some months I'd say, if I remember correctly sometimes it won't show for some time, but only today I took the time to look at it. It doesn't cause any visible problems for me but since I found this thread I'll post it. Using a Z370 Taichi, RX580 Sapphire, Windows 10 and last iCue update.
