wiliestseven51
I have 6 LL120 RGB fans installed in my system During my boot up, sometimes some of my rgb fans will randomly become a static colour, and then remain that colour until i restart the pc. I can change lighting effects/profiles etc, but that static lighting will remain the same. The portion of fan that is static or which fan it is is random and I've noticed no correlation. I've attached a few pictures to show what I mean. Anyone know how to fix this?
Corsair Employee Corsair Jam Posted June 28, 2019 Corsair Employee Share Posted June 28, 2019 (edited) Are the fans on the AIO connected to the same RGB fan hub as your exhaust fan or are they connected to the cooler? If they're on the same hub, you may have a bad fan plugged in. Can you try testing each fan individually on port 1 of the RGB fan hub? wiliestseven51
All the fans are connected to the same rgb hub which is then connected to a lighting node pro. I did as you asked and the only the second aio fan (the one next to the exhaust) had the issue and the exhaust fan worked fine. However, once i plugged all the fans back in and booted again the second aio fan had the issue and the exhaust fan did not light up at all, despite working fine in port 1 of the rgb hub. Like I mentioned the static light issue seems to occur randomly.
Corsair Employee Corsair Jam Posted July 8, 2019 Corsair Employee Share Posted July 8, 2019 I wrote a response, but didn't hit submit... What number are those two fans plugged into? I'd try moving the RGB fan hub and Lighting Node Pro onto a new segregated SATA line.
wiliestseven51
No worries, the fans are plugged into #5 and #6 respectively. Upon some further fiddling, I've noticed the issue now occurs after switching profiles. By this I mean I can boot up the pc and the issue doesn't occur, but if i switch to another RGB profile on icue the static lights randomly occur. If i spam switching profiles the static colour goes, but then comes back again randomly. What do you mean by a new sata line? Do you mean use another sata power connector? Bit of a noob here
Waukeen
They are suggesting running a separate SATA line from the PSU to power those two things.
wiliestseven51
Thanks for the clarification, I plugged the lighting node pro and fan hub into their own sata cable and the problem persists.
