Nice
Hi! I just recently bought a HG10 and the Hydro H55 cooler to install on my Sapphire Radeon R9 290. I thought the installation of the HG10 bracket and the H55 was easy and went really smooth, but when I installed it in my PC and started it, it was dead. No signal from DVI or HDMI. I used the longer standoffs. The on board fan is working as well as the H55. But still no type of life-signal from the GPU. Removed the R9 290 and tested a HD4870 and that worked fine. I really need help troubleshooting this. Is there anything I might have done wrong installing it? // Nice
Toasted
If possible, please take some pictures of the install. I would uninstall the H55 + HG10 and re install the cooler on the card to make sure the card is working normally and is not dead. A per usual, make sure the thermal pads on the stock cooler is still present then clean and reapply thermal compound to the GPU.
Nice
Thank you Toasted for the reply. It's my first time trying to do this kind of thing. I am fumbling in the dark here :brick: If possible, please take some pictures of the install. I will have some photos up here as soon as I get home from work! I would uninstall the H55 + HG10 and re install the cooler on the card to make sure the card is working normally and is not dead. Hopefully I'll have some spare time to do this the next couple of days. Let's say it will work after the stock installation. Should I reinstall the HG10 + H55 and try again? If the installation of the stock cooler shouldn't work, what might have caused the problem?
Toasted
If the GPU works with the stock cooler, i would re-read the instructions before installing it again to ensure it's being installed properly. If it doesn't work, could be a bad install causing a short or possibly static discharge during the install.
Nice
Took a quick look at the GPU and found this part damaged/loose. It's called C1464. I'm guessing that this is the cause of my problems... Is it possible to fix it by solder it to the PCB again? https://imageshack.com/i/f0S14IUpj
Toasted
Can you take a picture of the whole pcb on the side with the damaged part? What is the model of the graphics card? Link to Sapphire From the picture, it looks like the trace on the PCB has also been pulled up so soldering it back in will not work. You can take it to a electronics professional and they may be able to repair it but if the card works after the repair? We will not know for sure as it may be dead already.
