Let the battery drain then fully recharge it before using it.

Have you ever left the headset on for a prolonged period of time when it was low on charge and beeping?

Hi
I had the same problem yesterday.

-Headset was fully charged.
-Used it 3 hours.
-Deactivated it while WMP was still playing musik.
-20 mins later (still deactivated- WMP still playing musik) i added the USB cable
to charge it I used an USB 3.0 Port (never saw someone mentioning their USB port).
-again 20 Mins later i opened google chrome with an flash video. (WMP and Chrome are playing sound)
-I activated the Headset and got no sound (Headset still connected with USB charge cable) - wondering why all leds are glowing.

I don't know when the glowing started.
After draining (which is damaging the battery) it works again.

Is it possible that the Headset crashes because the USB3 Port could give more power?

Windows 8 Pro 64bit.
Corsair software version 2.0.7
Corsair Audiodriver version 1.0.0.17

Try a USB 2.0 port on the next recharge and see if the issue comes back.

Already have it on the USB 2.0

It was the first time using an USB 3.0 and it crashed for the first time. Thats why i marked it red and asked if it could be the USB port causing this error?

Okay, I'm sorry, but I won't have this happen anymore.

The problem have happened three times since my last post here on this thread (POST ID # = 626953), that is 7 times total in the 6-7 months I've had the headset, two of the occations on my brand new pc, and one of the times as I booted up the PC with no software opened or anything! (problem occurs on both USB 2.0 and 3.0)
This, and the fact that every miniUSB I find fall out of the socket and shorts my headset to turn it off at least 5 times a day.
I would love to know if these problems are related to my device only and I can send it back as an RMA-case or how I should tackle this situation, because it is very, very frustrating.
I'm off to wait the 2 hours to have my headset's battery depleted from full charge (yes, the battery is not very great anymore either)
And please don't misunderstand what I mean - I really love this headset, the sound is deep and I enjoy listening to my 1000+ kbps FLAC albums on it. This is definitely the best headset I've ever owned.

EDIT: I should probably expand a bit about how and when I see this problem occur.
I have Chrome open on my PC always, as well as utorrent, antivirus, antimalware, etc etc, though I don't think the problem is connected to any of these applications since I've experienced it happening just after a startup with only a few of them opened.
The problem always happens when turning on the headset, that'd be after it being turned off normally or turned off by the miniUSB wiggling out.
It happens with full battery as well as critical battery.
I never leave my headset on while I am away from the pc; I turn off the headset if I am afk for more than 30 seconds.
I can't stand hearing the critical beeping sound, so I always connect the USB when battery gets low. That means that I never have it operate on low amounts of battery.
I must say, It have happened a lot while I have been watching Youtube videos, maybe it is because of the flash plugin.
I don't recall if I have had the usb connected every time it have happened, but this last time, it definitely were connected.

My specs:
mobo: ASUS M5A99X EVO - Rev. 2.0
cpu: FX FX-8350 8 MB
RAM: 16Gb (8x2) Kingston HyperX Predator
gpu: eVGA GeForce GTX 660 Ti Superclocked+ (3 GB)
SSD: OCZ Vertex 4 Series Solid State Disk 128 GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 2 TB (storage)
psu: XFX ProSeries P1-650X-XXB9
os: Windows 8 Pro

Cheers

Can you tell us about your system? Which programs you used when the problem occurs?

What were you doing short before it happens. Something like I added the miniusb and activated it direct before the recharge led starts blinking.

The one that I got with the headset. I just use the longest cable I have

EDIT: uploaded a video of how easy it is to have the headset short: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIWhhNScWCs

Thanks for the video. We should definitely exchange it for you. It looks like that socket is defective for sure.

Day 5 of using my brand new Corsair headset:

USB connected via USB 3.0
Fully recharged
Chrome open with Youtube
Went solid amber as I turned on the headset.

Let it drain completely and then recharge back to full. Did you leave it on at any time without charging it, or kept it on too long while it was beeping before recharging?

I kept it on for maybe 3 minutes of beeping the first time it went low (day 2 after I got it) nothing more.
It has been recharging every night since, so I have not experienced other times where the battery has been low.

Was it resolved when you let it drain and recharge?
