Hestheone
A new refurb F120 into a Toshiba Satellite A105-S2201 notebook gets as far as the bios splash screen and hangs. Drive appeared to work ok in a USB enclosure. Bios is updated to most current. Normal operation with conventional drive, but the SSD will not play. Drive came with firmware 1.3 I believe, and obviously I have not updated it. So....will updating the firmware likely fix it? Thanks in advance. Toasted
Try the firmware update. It may fix it.
Hestheone
Is there a way to update the firmware with a sata card in a pc or do I hunt for someone with a laptop/desktop that will recognize the SSD as is?
Wired
They only test the update tool using Intel / AMD ports. No way to know if it'll work on other SATA ports without trying.
