gohcj
Hi, I am curious about the sound I am hearing. I brought the ML120 PRO RGB 3-pack fans. I can hear a whine/electrical noise whenever the fan spin. Getting louder as the RPM ramps up. All 3 of them have this sound. All of them are connected to PWM header on the z370 Gaming 7. I have another 3x ML140 pro and have no such sound. will post the sound later.
Corsair Employee Corsair Lettuce Posted July 9, 2018 Corsair Employee Share Posted July 9, 2018 That's really odd especially for Ml fans, I would suggest creating a support ticket and have our technical support team further assist you.
DevBiker
Do you have these fans configured as DC mode? Even on a PWM header, you can configure them this way. I would suggest that you check the BIOS to make sure that the headers are configured (specifically) as PWM.

gohcj
The sound is similar to the one in this video. When the ML RGB 120mm is tested at 1600RPM @ 5:43 [ame] [/ame] It is very annoying when the room is quiet.. I prefer the sound of noisy wind compared to the the high-pitched motor noise piercing my ears... Edited July 10, 2018 by gohcj
