  1. I absolutely love the laptop (after figuring out the best way to make it function optimally) but I do echo other suggestions/comments: It would be nice to have a corsair app, whether it's through iCUE or a specific laptop app, that allows you to download directly from Corsair. Like a few people said on here, it's a challenge with drivers primarily because they are just listed on the Corsair a1600 product page with no information about release dates, updates or bug fixes. The only thing we go by are driver version numbers but even that can be confusing to someone who doesn't know much about driver software. We do appreciate the communication from you Albert, but we also find that this is where Corsair in general is lacking. We would appreciate even just updates on what is being worked on rather than being in the dark. We don't necessarily need specific timeframes, but we would like to know (generally speaking) what is currently being worked on so that we at least have some idea that certain issues will ultimately be resolved in the future. We're not looking for specific answers or details, we just want communication with status updates. For example: "We're still in the process of validating our display drivers with Microsoft so it may take up to (x amount of weeks/months) to get this resolved so please be patient. We're working on it as quick as we can." In either case, thank you for your help Albert!
  2. Realised there is another more current thread about this. Appreciate the communication but I think some of us would like a general potential timeframe. Thread here:
  3. I think I don't speak for myself in asking about this. Love the laptop but this AMD driver validation is a big burn, especially the customers haven't had an update in a while. Some may even wonder if it's being worked on or may return their laptop even. Corsair, when do you think the validation process will be complete? Thank you
  4. Is there something in the works where Corsair will develop an application/program where you can get specific updates through? For example, rather than relying on Windows Update it would be great if Corsair made an app that delivered specific updates for the Voyager A1600 (and other computers). This would solve many issues and would be very convenient. Looking at Corsair applications, it seems to make sense adding this driver feature to iCue. Just my thoughts anyway. Corsair, any thoughts on this?
  5. You can also create a power plan on windows and reduce the cpu performance to make it even quieter, especially if you're just doing emails/reading/web browsing, etc.
  6. Nevermind, realized it was my USB-C hub that was being recognized.
  7. I receive this message on bootup: "You have plugged in a lower wattage power adapter. The Battery may not charge properly. The system will adjust its performance to match..." Do I need a new power adapter? Is this a bug?
  8. I've done a clean install and it worked much better. I first let windows install everything via the update. After that, I installed the AMD chipset and GPU drivers then restarted. After that, I installed all the other drivers while disabling automatic installation of drivers via Windows Update. Works pretty well but yeah, annoying that the drivers aren't validated yet.
  9. When will we be able to get an update on the Validation process?
  10. You will get issues with installing AMD drivers from the Windows Update. It will not allow you to install it. So, what I recommend is going through the entire Windows Update and ignore the AMD driver. Then I'd install the chipset drivers, followed by the display drivers. After that I restart and install all the other drivers and restart as needed. There is a way to disable driver updates via Windows Update. That way, windows doesn't automatically install drivers that may be incompatible (since this is a new product). Here: How to Stop Automatic Driver Updates on Windows (makeuseof.com) There's a way to install windows 'Group Policy Editor' if you have the Home version of Windows, here: Download Group Policy Editor for Windows 10 & 11 Home Edition - MajorGeeks. This allows you to make a modification to the Windows Updates. There are other methods as well including Regedit. You can either disable driver updates via Windows Update or just ignore the error codes you get when Windows tries to install the drivers. I believe Corsair is currently working on a fix for this driver discrepancy via Windows Update.
  11. Hi, I'd like to know if there is a software fix for this, or, if this comes down to a hardware issue?
  12. I hear you. I think much of this comes down to firmware updates - especially with the fan. It would also be great if they had the HX cpu so you could adjust the frequencies specifically, etc. What I recommend, which is what I did, was make two power plans. One for just the office (silent) where I had to make a regedit to add the 'Power Performance Boost mode' option under your power settings (high, balanced, etc). I disabled the boost in this quiet mode by switching 'Power Performance Boost' to 'disabled' so the frequency of the cpu stays at base 3.3 or something. Then when I want to game or do something more demanding, I enabled the 'Performance Boost Mode' under my 'High/Performance Power mode'. This would then allow the CPU to boost. Additionally, I assigned my fan speeds to 3 of the buttons on my streamdeck. That way I can quickly change between them on the fly. What would be very cool is if they are able to tie the power plan to the fan curve/mode - similar to ASUS. If I want it quiet, I'd like it to not turbo and reduce the fan noise. If I want to go balls to the wall, I'd want the fans up and performance maxed. At first I was frustrated with the display drivers, etc. Then I realized this is a new product and I hope Corsair is working to develop these drivers or at least fix windows update driver conflicts. That being said, I did do a clean install and installed everything from Corsair website again, works like a charm. What I recommend doing - HIGHLY RECOMMEND - is to run through all the windows updates first until they are done and there is nothing left to update via Windows Update. Then, install/reinstall all the Corsair drivers. That way it replaces any driver that the system installed that may not be entirely compatible or at least cause issue. The video card driver I found on this forum by someone who works with Corsair. Wish they put it on their driver list on the main Corsair page. I work in medical computers and understand that upon every new product there will be bugs, especially by a company who hasn't had experience in it before. Just be patient and it will get better. The build quality, performance, trackpad/keyboard and screen are excellent. Really the issues are coming down to drivers where they either conflict with the system or Elgato software. Link how to add Processor Performance Boost:
  13. I was having several issues with this product in the beginning. Did a clean reformat and started from scratch. Similar to what others were saying, I held off installing all Corsair's drivers from the Corsair's website until Windows 11 has gone through all of it's updates. Then I installed each driver separately, including the AMD graphics driver. I changed a registry value to prohibit windows update from updating my graphics card driver automatically. This has helped a ton. Question: Will there be a time where we can use AMD drivers from their own website or will we have to continually check Corsairs website for that driver? Lastly, where can I purchase another power supply? I think it's 230 watts but wanted to make sure the plug into the computer is the correct size/fit. Here are a list of bugs / potential issues I've encountered: - Incredibly long boot times (even with fast bootup) - Driver conflicts w/ windows update - Received a system notification about 'laptop is plugged into a low wattage power supply and will adjust performance, etc." - I'm using the power supply that came with the computer. Nice to haves: - Allow us to turn off boost/turbo mode in bios. - Larger fans (which will make the laptop a little thicker but it will run a little cooler and quieter) - A better system management tool application for laptops: Where you can update drivers, firmware, run diagnostics and change system performance settings. This almost needs to be a requirement. The corsair diagnostics really doesn't do much and offers just system shortcuts. Corsair should develop something similar to Asus Armory Crate. You should have Elgato develop this. Things I love: - The build quality - The large and responsive mousepad and keyboard - Very bright and fast screen - Elgato quick keys - Great hardware Corsair is new to the laptop market so with everything considered they have build a solid laptop. Hopefully users are aware that this is a new venture for Corsair and to understand that with these types of new products that there will be bugs in the beginning. Just do the work around I've done and the system should be very responsive. Hats off to Corsair, looking forward to more of their laptop product lines.
