Hello,
For a while now I've been having issues with some of my case fans flickering. Not sure if this is a hardware issue or a software one. Nonetheless, a few months ago, after updating to iCUE 5, I noticed some of the fans began to flicker. I didn't give much thought at the time but now it seems to be getting worse. I tried to troubleshoot but so far no real solution. I did learn a couple of things, though.
Currently, I have 10 fans on a 5000D, 3 on the front, 3 on the side, 1 on the rear and 3 on the top that came with the AIO along with my radiator. The issue is only happening on the front and side fans, which are all connected to the same RGB lighting node, while the rear and AIO fans are connected to the commander core and those are working fine. Worth noting that the first fan in the RGB node chain is also not affected, second fan has a tiny bit of flickering and the further we go on the chain, the worse it gets.
Here is a video
The things I tried so far, none of which worked:
Rollback to iCUE 4.
Give the lighting node it's dedicated SATA connector from the power supply.
Switch to a different USB connector on the motherboard.
Connect each fan directly into fan connectors on the motherboard instead of the 6 fan hub that came with the case.
Replace the lighting node altogether - I have a spare one that was never used.
What else can I do?
