  1. There would be no licensing fee. Aida64 and HWInfo are already able to read the sensors of the commander pro now. The issue is if you open up Icue to get RGB and other Icue features you need, it breaks things. My understanding is this is entirely due to the way Corsair has coded Icue in terms of collisions with the sensors and do not use the usual method others do. You can run HWinfo, Aida64 and other programs together monitoring other devices and they don't crash or cause issues. So while yes, there may a cost to have Corsair program Icue to behave "normally" with other hardware monitoring, there is no need for a license fee. There is nothing to license. If you are suggesting there should be a licensing fee payable by Icue users, generally, to be able to access Commander Pro sensors outside of icue, that becomes ridiculous given people have access now.
  2. Rather than have Corsair try to come up with a good sensor panel (which is a lot of work and will be inferior to what exists), perhaps the solution is providing/permitting Aida64, HWInfo and other similar programs the ability to read the Icue / Commander Pro sensors so you can use those programs more robust sensor panels and features while still being able to run ICue. Seems like a win win. And yes I am not replying to the various HWInfo / Aida64 comments in this thread. I'm not sure how effective it is but there are some of those that have full corsair systems and would really appreciate Corsair programmers taking the little bit of extra effort to make Icue allow the sensors to be read without conflicting.
  3. Amongst my other suggestions: 1) They should bring back the OSD; 2) HWinfo / Aida64 info support would be very nice. I have am now using the thermal sensors on my comander pro (because Icue doesn't properly read the thermister sensor on my Asus motherboard), and it would be really great to see the thermal sensors and fan speed using the Rainmeter / HWInfo panel I am running. Icue dashboard is not a replacement to the alternative small panels that exist (i.e. Rainmeter, Aida64 sensor panel, etc.).
  4. I have a question if someone is willing and able to answer/confirm rather than trying to install the later versions of Icue? (I am still using Icue 3 because the OSD showing which profile you changed to was a valuable feature for me that was removed.) Is it possible to set murals to only base the lighting on the Windows desktop wallpaper image and not the topmost window? My goal is to use Wallpaper Engine, but rather than use the Icue plugin it relied on for LED, use what I presume is the more accurate Murals layout for the LED positioning of the lighting. If murals only uses the topmost, that necessarily won't work. And then I imagine looks very odd when you switch windows if you are using your desktop for non-gaming purposes.
  5. I never received a reply in the prior thread, but is there an explanation as to what "Context notifications" are that were added to the prior version? My hope is it's something that tells you what profile you've changed to.
  6. What are "Context Notifications"? Will this give a notice when you change profils?
  7. Does anyone know if Icue5 offers any visual notification of which profile you have switched, without Gamebar or clicking on the ICue taskbar item?
  8. Has Icue 5 added back an OSD or any other on-screen notification that you have switched profiles?
  9. Does this now work with Wallpaper Engine, or will any open window get added into the mix? I had understood that using the monitor as an option for murals results in any window or application over the background impacting the lighting. Also assuming there is still no OSD to tell us what profile we have changed to?
  10. I haven't installed it yet, but this would seem to suggest that we cannot combine murals and wallpaper engine (in terms of just background). That would've been really nice as then we could properly position our equipment so it matches the physical layout, while being able to use Wallpaper Engine. Do you use profiles for keyboard/mouse buttons? If using dynamic wallpapers (and not set LEDs), how are you determining which profile you are on if using mouse/hotkey to change profiles. Yes, I'm still harping about not having an OSD.
  11. I am using Icue 3 for the OSD. I have two questions: 1) To use this with wallpaper engine, would we simply disable Wallpaper Engine taking over the RGB of Icue, and then setting a mural to the screen? 2) Regarding the OSD - again, I generally use wallpaper engine all the time, but do switch to different profiles that change the keyboard and mouse to different settings. Sometimes within the same application. Is there some way to get visual notification of what profile I have switched to while using murals? I may sound like a broken telephone, but OSD is a useful feature. Even a small notification as to the profile you've turned ot is all I would need.
  12. Just another request to bring back even a basic OSD that shows you what profile you have changed to.
  13. Thanks for this suggestion - I am just fiddling with it now. I still see there is no way to have it pop up if/when you change the profile, but at least its fast way to check what you are without using the mouse to get to the taskbar app.
  14. I would happily upgrade to ICue 4 if the developers of ICue would kindly re-introduce the OSD feature in Icue 3. This feature, which tells me which profile I am on (or have accidentally switched to pressing the profile buttons on my mouse), without clicking on the taskbar or relying on different lighting (for those that use Wallpaper engine), is a critical item for those that have multiple profiles that we don't automatically change depending on app.
  15. I'm replying to my own topic, as I still am hesitant to upgrade to Icue 4 as my system general works though a few of the QOL items in Icue 4 would be nice. I just can't use it without an OSD given my usage case (i.e. I'd like to know which profile I just changed to using the mosue/keyboard buttons). I'm hoping there is some elegant solution to this if OSD isn't a feature being reintroduced into Icue4.
  16. Hello Community, Given that it appears the OSD will not be returning to Icue 4, I was hoping there were some suggestions as to what alternatives people have been using to know what profile they have switched to (if using the keyboard/mouse hotkeys) without opening Icue or clicking on the taskbar. In my case usage, I have some profiles that have the same lighting but different buttons, or am using Wallpaper Engine. Therefore, I can't always tell which profile I am in just by the lighting on the devices. This seems unfortunate, and for those with various key/button profiles, how are you determining what profile you are on?
