  1. My motherboard will be EVGA Z590 with Intel i9-11900K cpu. The cpu has memory spec of 3200MHz. I prefer Vengeance LPX for the low profile and I don't care about rgb. All ram specs have various tested speeds but they always have SPD set at 2133MHz. For reference I looked at other brands and they are the same way. Why can't I find any ram (hopefully Vengeance) with SPD set at 3200MHz? Then I could enable XMP for overclocking. Why should people have to enable XMP just to get the rated speed of the processor memory support? EDIT: I just found this Corsair help page for memory: https://help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025282412-Run-DRAM-at-its-Rated-Speed-with-XMP I guess that explains it. It's so that the memory can be used on a variety of motherboards. I heard that Intel officially doesn't support enabling XMP. Which is strange since you have to in order to get their rated speed. Thanks anyway. Sorry for the unnecessary post.
  2. That could be quite a while, unfortunately. I'm still waiting for a motherboard, power supply and graphics card. I picked a lousy time to build a computer.
  3. Thank you, all. That's perfect for me then. That explains why you have to start connecting the fans at header #1 (if you have less than 6). Zotty, 32 fans?! wow!
  4. My motherboard is still a long ways off:[pouts: So I have time to play what-if games. I'm thinking of using the Commander Core solely for the H150i Elite Capellix, pump and 3 fans. If I put the other 6 fans on the included pwm repeater, and let the motherboard control it, will the motherboard receive a tach rpm signal? I know it will "show up" as one fan after the repeater but I don't understand how the repeater can produce one fan rpm signal from six fans.
  5. Might be a long while. Still waiting for parts to be in inventory so I can order. Could be a long time for the graphics card especially.
  6. I suspected that but just wanted to be sure. Thank you.
  7. Just received my H150i ELITE CAPELLIX. The manual describes using standoffs for various Intel sockets but not LGA 1200. I found another thread about the H100 and using 115X mounting hardware for LGA 1200. Since I have no idea if the pump blocks are the same, do I use the same, 115X instructions and standoffs for the H150 on the LGA 1200?
  8. Thanks, Zotty. On the bottom floor of the case I noticed that there are some holes that line up with SSD mounting holes. That might be a place to use the washers! BTW, your links and diagrams have already helped me a lot. Thank you.
  9. Thanks. I was wondering if they were some new important safety feature.
  10. Thank you for both your replies. It helps to know what others are doing.
  11. Hi Everybody, This is my first build in 10 years. Previous build was in a Corsair White Graphite 600T. That was the most fun I ever had building a computer. The accessory kit for the 5000D has a packet of washers. I'm guessing, since there are 8, that they are for the motherboard screws. Is that right? I built 3 computers so far and never needed washers. Why do I need them now? And that brings up another question. Why is there a support standoff in the middle of the second row? Why wouldn't I want to screw down the center? I can't remove it and use a standard standoff because the hole is in a raised dimple in the tray and would raise the center of the motherboard. So, clearly, somebody didn't want me to do that  Thank you for your help.
